hey! never said trance lyrics were deep and meaningful, mainly they just sound sweet. BUT, if someone is singing, there's gotta be a tune someone has written, yes? a decent tune is very hard to create.

vocals dont necessarily add any more melody to a song than is already there. in fact the vocals are just another layer of the song.

pho mo, if you've got enough party tricks on your computer you don't have to write a melody cos there's so many layers and it's all stored there for you, ready to add at whatever minute mark your little heart so desires. if you can't write a melody too well on your keyboard then synth it up and it'll sound alright. i've a friend with a sensational program for writing tracks and the bloody computer does the entire thing for you. you could be a complete moron when it came to 'composing' tracks and it would still sound ok! actually made me go off trance for quite a while.

um dude, youre lecturing the guy who won the recent Oz production competition, methinks he knows a lot more about production of quality trance tunes than youre giving him credit for. and theres no way in hell a computer is ever going to write better music than a talented musician. im thinking perhaps your tastes are a lil easier to fulfill if you think \"synthing\" up a bad melody makes it sound \"alright\".
