i think maybe gwen to trying for something similar. it's the type of song that every cheerleading squad is going to be dancing to now. i'm sure she wouldn't pick that song if she had to pick one song to define her style. it seems like that song was a more fun song that was guaranteed to be a hit and guaranteed to make her a shitload of money.

see this is what i'm saying. these last few songs of hers were made because she is on her own now...she has to stay afloat somehow...and she's doing it quite well by making a lot of crap that will sell...

"What you waiting for" isn't crap.

then again, "crap" is in the eye of the beholder.

I heard her talkin about her album a few times. She said she wanted every song on there to be like a single or something. Just fun stuff. Nothing too serious. Something that not all like, but will have stuck in their heads. Haha..think she succeeded.

I totally like it. I find some of it cheesy, but its fun to dance around to, so I listen, plus..I love her.

i like her original better than jacques remix any day. sure that remix is pretty good and they played it at mynt and i was dancing, but i was very disappointed when i heard that remix. when i first heard that song i thought, "oh man, there's gonna be so many sick remixes of this song out" and then someone was like, "yea there's already the jacques lu cont mix" and i got so happy and then when i heard it, i was like, "ehh..i like her version better"

ohhhhh well, it is the CORe, and you're having a semi-intelligent discussion/debate.

I agree with both comments.

She did contribute to both songs. Dr Dre produced "Rich Girl" and I read in a interview that the whole album is supposed to be a throwback to her high school days, so that may explain the marching band thing.

Javy-no offense taken!! I love your little Puerto Rican ass anyway. And I'm not offended by anyone elses comments either. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Anyway, maybe this thread needs to go back to if shes hot or not!!!

The 'album version' (radio play) of What You Waiting For was also produced by Stuart Price
