Damien:
I really appreciate what you said and how you said it.
Regarding this year's DJ award, I am very curious myself... I still want to see Tiesto at the top, though. I think he is still the best (at least for me); and might be you were right when you said that Tiesto's music for the past two years was little different than before, but I think the reason for that is that Tiesto constantly trying new things (he deserves a lot of respect for that)... And usually people are not very responsive to something new.

If so many people think Tiesto sucks, then why was he #1 in 2004? My conclusion is that most of the people that vote probably pick a bunch of famous names because it's easy to do that. I mean everybodys heard of Tiesto, just like everybodys heard of Adolf Hitler, but that doesn't mean he was a good leader, does it?

what should it be judged on? Mixing ability? producing? re.mixing? I mean look at Guy Ornadel for instance, one of the best trance DJ's on the planet, but does not like producing music. Does that make him a bad DJ?
I think it should be down to all the DJ's to vote for their favourite. It would be funny just to see who Paul Van Dyk picks!!!
