I'm embarassed because people I know associate trance with Ian van Dahl, Ultrabeat and trance I don't even listen to.

I prefer to give people a demonstration of what I consider good EDM, Oakenfold 1999, Sasha of late 90s etc. They usually see why I think that way!

As seems to be the case with most places, in Sweden trance isn't popular either. The "rave music" has a bad reputation and is connected with drugs, probably because of all the baised media reports of parties over the years.

House music is a different story though, it's much more accepted.

Here, in El Salvador and some parts of Latin America EDM has gradually become popular that you can even hear songs like David Guetta's Just a Little More Love,Ecstasy, Traffic etc in plain mid-day on the popular radio stations.
