Bah, Halcyon is a much fuller track, IMHO. It's like an expanded Belfast, the way it should have been from the start. |
I disagree. The original Halcyon is quite a poor tune, but people only remember & On & On. In my opinion, it leans far too heavily on the vocal sample for long stretches. The intro is gorgeous, but after that it's mostly just "It's A Fine Day" in reverse.
Belfast to me has more variation. It may seem a very simple track, but over the course of it, Orbital slide around countless beautiful little elements, and don't just use the vocal sample over and over.

I'd say Where Are They Hiding is Joey's best, but only because it's Electro. Well, him and the other guy who worked on it.

I post what I know. Some are obscure, but most are not. That is to say, you don't know most of the ones you don't know because you don't listen to that type of music, not necessarily because the tracks themselves are obscure within their respective subgenres. There are some from internet artists who release their work for free, those are probably the most obscure. I guess some of the genres are obscure, like Electro and Space Synth and Noise or maybe old Trance, but that's not to say you wouldn't recognize the tracks if you bothered to get into those kinds of musics. And by "get into" I mean "get into", not just give them cursory attention then say you were once into those kinds of music.
