Shame / Disagreement

That Sasha & Digweed Video is first how old and how many other DJ's played that event, Cause it sure as hell wasnt them alone! like I said before, everyone's a f*&^ing critic. Tiesto I think imo is trying to get dance music heard more, over the usual Hip-Hop garbage heard all over america today. Overall there is no way Sasha & Digweed would sell over 10k tickets, they arent as big as they were 5 years ago.

tiesto is trying to get america's money since so many went broke from the past 2 years of concerts

all kidding aside, sure thats great tiesto is bringing dance music...but all in the wrong ways

first, $70 for a dj set is just going to scare away new comers
second, edm and circus freaks? Maybe if you are on drugs you would enjoy it (wrecking edm)...
third, they didn't even advertise this on tv, how is tiesto supposed to get people from the hip-hop genre when they don't even know whats big in edm

I have nothing for or against any of these DJs, but Sasha and Diggers would shit all over Tiesto IF they played together, and whats more they would draw a more musically enlightened audience since Tiesto tends to pull a lot of members of the opposite gender because of his posterboyish looks - a phenomenon that neither Sasha or John will experience anytime soon. Seriously - a Sasha and Digweed show would sell out a stadium here in SoCal and would attract people from SF, Vegas, SD, as well as the greater LA area - which I think would sell out a place like the Coloseum.

That Sasha Video was shot on April 9, 2005. The crowd in attendance... 25,000 people!!!!!! That's more than what the Sports Arena holds... Not only that, but the entire DJ Line up was just 5 DJs.... With Sasha & Digweed headling. So yeah, It's pretty safe to say that Sasha & Digweed pulled most of that crowd... Here's a the first paragraph of a review on About.com

"A host of UK artists kicked the Buenos Aires scene back into action after an unusually quiet summer. Faithless, Mylo, Sasha & Digweed, and Argentinean native/UK-resident Hernan Cattaneo blew away 25,000 fans on a humid autumn night at the portside extravaganza."

Here's the link....

Yes, they did advertised it on TV. I saw it on MTV and my friend saw a commercial in Ensenada, Mexico.

people would probably come from outside of cali as well...they havent' played together over here in years

and i haven't taken any pills its the fucking truth, LA as a whole is more house oriented than trance oriented. spundae = free before 11pm with gueslist...obviously they're not getting as big a turnout as they want, heaven = moved from the arena to the vanguard now gone (temporarily i would assume). anything else?

and that sash & dig vid is about a month old

edit
and yes they had several commercials playing, i actually mentioned it in another thread. not to mention all the TIC posters littered all over the downtown area.

re-edit
sash & dig are bigger now than they have ever been! digweed championing this retro electro/acid sound coming out of germany, italy, and england and sasha kicking the shit out of eveyrone with ableton. hence why they don't play together that often. duh

I know I'm not into arguing as much as you guys as to who can draw the bigger crowds but it seems to me you guys need to check what you're saying...first you say the people promoting Tiesto selling out the arena are full of hot air, then you start bragging about how many people Sasha and Digweed could bring. Cmon.

There were a lot of people there, maybe not as many as expected, but it was definitely fun. His mixing was ok, but if you want perfect mixing, check out his CDs or something. As for his tracklist, I think for the most part it worked out great, after the kinda slow proggy beginning. He played what would get the crowd moving and having fun, and it worked. I know I (and the people around me) at least had a blast! Armin was definitely right about Play it Loud :-) I think he did a great job. my 2cents.

Tiesto is not trying to get dance music heard....he's tryin to get HIS music heard....and basically get all thew money he can while he's number 1....i personally dont blame him i know i would be doing the same if i was in his shoes! and as far as Sasha anmd digweed....i dont know if any of uy guys remember the Delta Heavy tour...were they had no daytime radio, to televsion, nothing to really help promote and they fuckin packed a whole stadium in Detriot...selling more tickets then any electronic music event in that area in history! nuff said!

i was just thinking about something while i was taking a shit...and what tiesto is doing is GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he will be #1 dj in the world AGAIN. a lot of the votes for the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ's poll comes from the United States. Tiesto is doing his TIC tour in the US around the time that the voting starts for DJ Mag. He will get #1 again. Simple as that. Perfect timing.

and your point about the buenos party?

Its sold out every year man. It has NOTHING to do with sasha and digweed. its the friggen south america music conference.

And Tiesto is headlining it this year, check his gigs.

Seriously some of you talk so much shit. Sasha and digweed would not even come close to tiesto in terms of draw right now in most places of the world.

I find it funny that people like dj bas and tjpatel have such a problem with so many people enjoying the show on saturday.

Have you not heard of being open minded? You guys who like progressive seem to be the biggest dicks.

8 pages on this topic so far and this is by far the best post I've seen yet. Thank you.
