3-1 victory to Real. Raul saves the day

Read this about the match from Eurosport this guy is hillarious

90'+4 And that's it. Luxemburgo can unpack his suitcase and cancel his flight back to Brazil. For the moment at least. FULL TIME: MADRID 3-1 BILBAO!

90' Four minutes of added time to be played...

90' From the corner, the ball falls to IRAOLA on the edge of the box!.... he lets fly with a PILEDRIVER, but it flies just wide of the angle between post and bar!

89' TIKO again who tests Casillas, connecting first time with a cross... but the Real 'keeper palms away easily!

87' Raul retreats to the dressing room, once again as the hero of the Bernabeu, to be replaced by De la Red...

85' Murillo on for Prieto...

85' Carlos fires in a trademark free kick. You know the drill, enormous run up, ball struck with venom, and invariably the keeper not troubled!

83' Prieto is booked for a challenge borne out of frustration on Robinho, following a beautiful turn. The boy from Brazil is full of tricks!

81' LLORENTE CRASHES A HEADER OFF THE BAR! That was a real towering header from the 6'4' player. I want to say he leapt like a salmon to meet that cross, but in fact he didn't really need to get far off the ground to connect! That could have changed things!

80' ROBINHO dances round his man after good work from that man Guti, and fires off a shot! JUST WIDE!

79' I can hear the crowd finally! Everyone's been woken up by the goals!

77' Lacruz who got booked earlier (sorry, missed it!), goes in hard on Guti again, and might have deserved to get a second yellow... especially if Woodgate can go for his very minor offence.... Bilbao have lost their discipline now, and the game is losing a bit of rhythm...

75' Beckham's my nomination for man-of-the-match so far tonight - he's on a hat trick of assists.... Guti's done well since coming on though, with his incisive passing in midfield....

73' Iraola on for Gurpegi for Bilbao...

73' Beckham's got his purse out again! He's only trying to protect his team-mates this time though as it all gets a bit tasty out there... Tiko goes into the book for a terrible challenge on Guti, which sparked off the melee!

70' Raul Bravo on for Ronaldo... 3-1 now to MADRID! Amazing comeback!

68' GOAL! It's a second for RAUL! Great run from Beckham's corner and the captain glances home from close range! That could be the winner! What a couple of minutes at the Bernabeu!

65' OH NO! THIS IS A DISASTER for WOODGATE! He gets a second yellow for an onocous tangle with Exteberria, and the ref bradishes the red! Amazing debut from Woody - an own goal and a red card! Real down to ten men... can they hold on?!

64' GOAL! Madrid are fighting back! It's RAUL who gets the final touch, tapping the ball into the net from a Ronaldo pass across the face of the goal, when the big man was entitled to shoot himself! Unselfish play from the Brazilian! It was Guti who superbly played in Ronaldo, who timed his run to perfection... 2-1 to Real!

62' Salgado goes into the book for a late, late challenge. He can't have any complaints about that, he was as late as I was for work this morning!

61' It's the BRAZILIAN CONNECTION again, as Robihno plays Ronaldo in.... he latches on to the pass brilliantly, but he can't beat Aranzubia, and the Bilbao 'keeper saves well! Real on the ascendancy!

60' The crowd are back into the game as well now... it's amazing how influential the fans can be...

59' I reckon there's more goals in this one tonight... as Ronaldo sniffs around the Bilbao goal... that said, the big man's lacking his usual touch tonight...

57' Teasing ball into the Real box... Woodgate's tempted, he can smell goals tonight... even Pavon has a look, but in the end both central defenders let the ball pass, and Casillas breathes a sigh of relief....

55' OOOHHHH! PRIETO flashes a shot just wide down at the other end! He really smashed that one from the edge of the area! How did it stay out? Game on, as they say!

54' Beckham whipped that one in devilishly, and all Robinho had to do was glance goalwards past Aranzubia in the Bilbao net!

52' Free kick to Real, after a surging run from Guti.... Beckham steps up to take it... GOAL! Robinho's on the end of it with his HEAD! Great start to the second half!

49' "I guess you WOOD say this is a REAL tragedy!" Yes, you may well apologise Keilan Thompson.....

48' Thanks for all the emails... the general theme of them is that a) my commentary isn't too bad (with one exception), b) the Madrid players drink a range of beverages at half time, anything from Dr Pepper to whiskey and Red Bull to coffee, and c) that Woodgate isn't playing that badly, and that maybe I should ease up on the harsh comments... points taken, thanks!

46' We're underway again in Madrid. One change at half time - Guti is on for Gravesen...

23:03 Anyway, more of that later... back to the action; I have a job to do...

23:02 Rob in Chicago isn't sure about the tea at half time and can't see what's wrong with pop and chips (crisps to the normal man). Rob, as we all know, Ronaldo's already eaten the pop and chip reserve for the whole of Western Europe in pre season....

23:00 Majkelu reckons that: "Luxe will try to do the same thing as Sir Alex did to Beckham some time ago in the dressing room, chceck Woody`s head after the break!"

22:57 Jamie Pfeffer hits the nail on the head: "I would guess Luxembergo is drinking sangria; Becks, of course, prefers Chrystal!"

22:56 Jack Ducker says: "Lets hope Woodgate doesn't think its still tea time after half, this guy needs to get his head in the game .. for REAL not ATHLETIC!!!

22:49 In fact, do they drink tea at half time in Spain? I'm really not sure... email me and enlighten (or amuse) me at [email protected]...

45' HALF TIME IN MADRID! Disastrous half for Real, exactly what they didn't need before the game! As for Bilbao, they're looking good, and probably deserve to go in for half time oranges and tea in the lead....

44' HORRIBLE challenge from Woodgate on Orbaiz... he was high and late and it could easily have been a red card, but the ref is leniant and only shows a yellow! That was a 'I've not played for a few months' kind of challenge. You know the kind, you see them down the park on a Sunday afternoon all the time!

43' TIKO is put through by Etxeberria down the right... he spots Casillas slightly off his line and shoots for GOAL! But the Madrid 'keeper is no slouch and he gets down well to block the ball! Clever effort and even better save...

41' Pavon's all over the show at the back! I can't remember a tackle he's won tonight!

40' Etxeberria plays for the foul, and Salgado duly delivers. The Madrid full back is FUMING after that! Like he's never done the same thing!

38' Another mistake from the debutant Woodgate as he heads weakly out of defence... TIKO picks up the pieces and LETS FLY again! JUST WIDE!

36' Tiko runs at the heart of the Real defence, BEATS TWO MEN, and fires off a shot which Casillas does well to parry out! Madrid are in a bit of trouble here, no one looks like they want to get involved in the game (apart from Beckham, and of course Woodgate, who scored the goal!)

32' PABLO GARCIA with the free header from the resultant corner! It's just wide... he really SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER!

30' RAUL spots the KEEPER OFF HIS LINE... he shoots from fully thirty yards, but Arazubia back pedalled quick enough to palm the ball over the bar!

29' YESTE down the other end capitalises on some poor defending... not one Real defender was willing to tackle the advancing Bilbao player, and he tries his luck with a shot from twenty yards... but he scuffs it a little and the ball rolls wide....

28' But it's not over yet and Robinho and Carlos combine well down the left to create a chance for RAUL! But his header's WIDE...

27' Storm crowds are brewing over the Bernabeu, and there's a really dark atmophere in the stands!

25' GOAL! It's debutant Jonathan Woodgate! But in the wrong net! One nil to Bilbao and it's a nightmare start to his Real career, and an even worse start to the game for Luxemburgo! Etxeberria received the ball wide on the left, he cut inside and chanced his arm with a speculative shot. It was flying well wide before Woodgate threw his head at the ball... deflection, and goal as it flew past the hapless Casillas!

22' Casas has a bit of 'handbags at ten paces' with Beckham. It's nothing and Becks tucks away his Dolce and Gabanna purse before getting on with more important things - like saving his manager's job!

18' BECKHAM tries to play in Robinho once again... he plays yet another superb pass, but, once again, Robinho's adjudged to be offside. Beckham's having a great game so far....

15' It's Ronaldo's birthday today - he's 28! So I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him many happy returns! He's got a party organised for after the match, but we're apparently not invited! I'm not really that bothered in any case, the big man will have probably eaten all the cake before I could have got there anyway....

14' RONALDO again! He's put in by Carlos, but he loses his head of wind, pulls the ball back and shoots HIGH AND WIDE! This time he WAS onside and the Brazilian has no excuses!

12' RONALDO's put through by Gravesen.... he's CLEAN THROUGH on goal, but he attempts a chip over the keeper, but it's weak and straight into Aranzubia's arms! He'll tell you he was off-side anyway! Which he was, by the way!

10' Etxeberria with a HEADER! But it's just wide! Good effort from Bilbao, who are really taking the game to Madrid at the moment!

9' Tiko tries to slip Etxeberria through with a reverse pass! But it's a little too long and the ball rolls through to Casillas!

7' ROBINHO with the drive from the edge of the area! He collects a pass from Raul, strikes it cleanly and has Aranzubia beaten all ends up, but it shaves THE POST! Great effort from the little maestro!

7' Another beautiful cross field ball from Beckham, but Carlos allows the ball to bounce - big mistake! He's far too small to collect the ball, and it bounces well over his head!

5' ROBINHO tries to find RONALDO in the box, but the cross is a little too overhit! Goal kick, but first real chance of the game...

4' Beckham sprays a wonderful diagonal ball to Robinho, but the ball skids off the surface and the Brazilian can't keep it in...

2' The crowd are whistling already - not too sure if that's for the benefit of the visiting team or the under-performing Real team!

1' And we're off!

I didn't watch the game but it seemed like Woodgate had some fun today. I wish I could've seen it.

Hey! And we won! About freakin' time!
