That´s a nice example of hypocrisy then. You haven´t said any fact that would support your opinion that Rock Your Body Rock is house.

I’m DJing producing and remixing under Ferry Corsten now but if people only know me for trance I would be disappointed because that’s too obvious.” Corsten’s first record under his own name was ‘Punk’ which he originally released under an alias. He explains, “It sounded like a cool record and I released it at first under a different name. People took it the way it was and responded in an honest way rather than receiving it as a Ferry Corsten record. As soon as the hype was complete and everyone was playing it like Paul Van Dyk I took off the disguise and everyone said ‘wow this is cool, we didn’t expect it’ so in a way the name change created the right amount of respect.”

i dunno i wuld consider it trance just like benassi, you have that frequency adjustment on the build up (which is very common for house buildups usually used for samples though) this is a synth and therefore should probably be considered trance
to each his own though, i still cant figure out the difference between freestyle and electro at times

Well, I felt like bumping this thread because maybe electro trance *might* exist, or is a newborn genre...
I haven't read that much of this thread before, because once Ishkur gets involved everything is screwed up.
Some ppl mentioned the recent Ferry tracks as being electro trance, or declined it.
But recently I found this new track of Precursor and made a cut of it

You could argue that Ferry's Punk is electrotrance... it has a robot voice and breakbeats. However, I'm in agreement here with Ishkur that Ferry's current sound is more house than anything else.
Hmm maybe so... But people denied the existance of electro trance.
Fact: Electro house exists
Fact: Electro house doesn't have that much in common anymore with the real original electro
So my question is, as a derivative of electrohouse, maybe electotrance will exist ? That sample I posted clearly had the same bassline like some electrohouse tracks have; and the other elements are tranzy...
So I was just WONDERING; no need to bash me here like that fool did 5 posts above... And please do take the effort to listen to the sample and comment why or why not it should be named electrotrance, keeping in mind electrohouse exists.

Ferry: You must see the ‘L.E.F.’ album as the follow up of the ‘Right Of Way’ album. With the ‘Right Of Way’ album I decided to make a step into a new direction. I continued with the same sound direction with the new album. But I have to say that the ‘L.E.F.’ album is more, let’s say a ‘fine tuning’ of the things that I started with the ‘Right Of Way’ album. You have to think about tracks in a style like ‘Rock Your Body, Rock’, the more rougher sound, which is a mixture of the trance sound and a wink to electro and techno. That’s the ‘L.E.F.’ album!
I guess the artist himself should know the best what he´s doing.
