He made poor transitions, played mostly monotone tracks (or made them monotone), ruined lots of tracks and the whole atmosphere with his typical PvD baseline (playing tracks underlined with it for almost an hour or so NONSTOP) and partying like some crack-addicted cow. He might be an important supporter of the EDM scene and an important public person, but his latest productions and gigs are mostly crap. I won't spend another cent for a trip to pvd-gigs anymore. It's a pity, because I used to LOVE that guy for the magic he brought into a club when spinning, but those times are gone.

On the other side ( ) I get slowly pissed with all those guys hyping minimal/electro/ect. because I can't shake off the suspicion that in a few years the same bashing will happen to those music because everybody got so full of it nobody can hear it anymore. It's just like the newest trend and *whooohooo* we all have to join it. Maybe I'm mistaken here, but this is what it sounds like to ME.

I hope it stays that way.
Dont want any of my fave DJs to become radio regulars

Yes I agree Paul Van Dyk's productions aren't what they once were, however as a DJ he can still be absolutely superb on his day. I saw him on October 7th at Turnmills in London and he was completely out of this world! It was possibly one of the greatest trance sets I have ever heard. It didn't drop off right through the 3 hours that he played and the club absolutely exploded!! He is still an awesome DJ, perhaps not as consistant as people may like (I can't comment that is the first time i have seen him in 2005).
And those who say there are too many shit productions coming out at the moment? Yes, maybe that is true but there is still some beautiful material produced, look at Menno De Jong, Sander Van Doorn, Andy Moor, Perry O'Neil, Mark Otten, Fred Baker, Adam White, the list goes on and on...

Even AVB doesn't get much airtime on the radio or even the clubs here in the US. I actually prefer PVD over AVB (by a little) and I'd take either over DJ Sammy. And I'd take DJ Sammy over 99% of the crap that the radios play here in the US.

Honestly, I wish we had the Europe music scene here in the US.
