I think Im still moving my feet! Lawler just brought the house down last night, madness! I liked/loved almost every track he played, no down time whatsoever, I was pretty tired when he came on from Mike rocking the Penthouse, awesome set man, I cant wait to come check out one of your headline sets! It was also great seeing all the TA's out and about, I just wished I was more social, but its always awesome to go out alone and know like 10-20 people in the club. The Dj who opened for Lawler was good but man he was putting me to sleep, alot of that stuff seemed like dreamy and almost trancey, did anyone else get that vibe? I thought there was a pretty good crowd there too, alot of dummies on the dance floor, I wanted to slpap the dude with whistle he was blowing it like every 10 secs., what was worse was he was up in the penthouse with it and it was louder than the music. All and all awesome night of great music and great friends! I probably vote this for club night of the year (not counting the boat cruise )

only got a few hours of good sleep but i'll try to make my review as coherent as possible...
Lawler's set was great. it started off strong, the middle was alright, and the end was fantastic. there was about an hour or so where he was just playing straight tribal, lots of long repetitive tunes that didn't go anywhere and didn't have a really pronounced melody. as much as i just wanted to hear chugging electrohouse all night long, i think his set was really wonderful and it kept the crowd dancing until the very end (myself included). he played a lot of tracks i recognized, too lazy to ID any of them right now but i'll try to list as many as i can think of later. there was one track i've heard before but i can't think of the name - it's got male vocals and the lyrics are "can you feel that sound, that obsessive sound" (i think??)... i need to find out what song that is. he didn't play The Conjure which i was kind of disappointed about. i know he's been playing that track in almost all of his sets lately and i was really hoping he would close with it. the 2nd to last song was really sweet but i think the last song wasn't all that great. it felt like kind of a weak way to end the set and it made me think "ok, time to go home"... then again by 4:45 i was just insanely exhausted so i was beyond ready to leave by then anyway.
i think altogether i was expecting a LOT more from Lawler. i wasn't disappointed at all, i just went into the night thinking "omg this is going to be sooooo amazing!" and it's not that it wasn't, it was just not exactly what i expected. his mixing is very solid but it's pretty basic, and he's not extremely entertaining to watch. he seemed like he was pissed off or bothered by something for most of the night. although i do have to say the high point of the night for me was when he blew me a kiss when he saw my lawlergasm shirt...
Sean Miller's opening set seemed pretty good from what i heard. not too in your face, it was perfect stuff to hear from an opener.
Mike - i really dug the set you were spinning up in the penthouse. that was the first time i've heard you spin and i really enjoyed it. your selection of tunes is just the kind of stuff i dig. good job and i look forward to checking you out again sometime.
the Halloween decorations looked pretty sweet, but they were really annoyingly restrictive when it comes to observing the crowd and the DJ. although i guess it's probably a better thing that i wasn't able to see the crowd because most of them looked pretty cracked out anyway, lol.
always great to see all the TAs out, even though we were all off in our own worlds all night. there was a big TA presence there and that's always a good thing. Rob and i stayed until the end and didn't really get to say bye to a lot of people but i hope you all had a great night and i hope you all made it home safe.
now... time for me to crash and recover. last night was definitely one of the best nights out this year, musically and socially... but i think now i need to take a little break from going out in Chicago before i wreck myself.
lawlergasms FTW!!!

That track is Alex Dolby - Obsessive Sound which is on Lights Out 3
I have it btw...
Yeah...I think I hyped Lawler too much for you lol...but maybe it was the venue...I dunno...cause here he was just nuts.
Lawler's mixing seems simple but if you actually hear those tracks on their own you'll realise he edits them alot so that he can mix them in his own special way...which I enjoy...hjow he mixes a little late and then drops massive basslines.

Sorry guys that I couldn't make it down. I was really trying to sort things out and fire up for it but got some more bad news yesterday so that really put me out of any party mood. About to read the reviews, hope everyone had a good time. From all the txtx/vms it appears that things went off in Miami as well.
