Not to do a shameless plug here, but you should listen to this mix I did last summer. I bet you'll like at least the first half, maybe the whole thing, although it slowly gets less loungey and more progressive house-ish. What you're looking for I think is the more "chilled out" side of progressive house, along with chill house/deep house. Here's a link for the mix: http://www.djjoncaserta.com/mixes.htm#waterfall .

Let me know if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

P.S. Good thread.

I'm glad someone started and bumped this thread. Learning a lot of good information here. I was originally an anthem trance kind of guy, but like I stated in my "Getting away from formulaic trance" thread, I'm ready to branch out into something else now. I finally got a good listen to ISOS 5 over the weekend, and Tiesto bashing aside I loved the sound of disc 1! From what I've read, this style is considered progressive trance, and I find it much more relaxing and "intelligent" than the standard anthem tune.

However, since we're discussing house here, can someone explain to me briefly the main differenes between progressive house vs. progressive trance? What are some good progressive house tunes that I should sample in order to get a better idea if this is the direction I'd like to go? Rebel9, Spirit5, and FloorFiller, I'm looking in YOUR direction (cough, hint, elbow, nudge), especially. Thanks, guys.

Try Hernan Cattaneo if you are interested in progressive house. His latest mix cd Renaissance Presents Sequential is quite amazing.

Perrrrrrrfect!
Thanks!
Also, if anyone else is trying to obtain the same kind of house I am, check out other stuff from Daso like "Man in a Box" & "Go Upstairs."
Just go to www.beatport.com and type "daso" in the search area.
Really sweet "Lounge" tracks!

Eddie Amador-3am

some random loungey deepish house.

Aisle-Golden Sun(Copenhagen mix)(Emanuel and Hajj mix also not bad)
Julien Jabre-Swimming Places(Jerome sydenham mix)
Karen Overton-In Your Loving Arms(Luca Ricci tribal edit)perfect beat for swirling a drink to.
