First of all:

And who could forget:

And one of my favourites from the old PC games:

I bet we all remember this level:

OH SHIT, I just remembered another game. This is probably my favorite game that I've ever played.

StarTropics

Your main weapon in this game was a Yo-Yo, you drove a submarine, and roamed around a huge map. There was a sequal also called Zoda's Revenge, but alas I never played it. Maybe I can get the ROM for PSP, and play it again....

I dont know if anybody mentioned this, but Mike Tyson's PUNCH OUT for Nintendo was cool. Then they changed it around after he was convicted of rape.

Also, the original Streetfighter for SEGA.

Smash Bros is neither a button-masher, nor is it a classic yet.

For me it's all about :

Zelda: LttP (SNES
Zelda: Link's Awakening (Gameboy)
Zelda (NES)
Earthbound (SNES)
FF4 (2 in NA) (SNES)
FF6 (3 in NA) (SNES)
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
Street Fighter 2 (SNES)
Metal Gear (NES)
Paperboy (NES)
Q-Bert (NES)
Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
Ninja Turtles: Turtles through Time (SNES)
Shadowrun (SEGA)
Landstalker (SEGA, also, favourite adventure game of all time)
BattleToads (The one for SNES)
Double Dragon (NES)
Super Ninja Boy (SNES)
Pacman (Atari, I could get to the yellow level when I was 4 years old)
Super Mario Bros (NES, cousin showed me how to beat it, I beat it the first day I had my NES)
Asteroids (Atari)
Sim City (PC)
Wizardry 6: Bane of the Cosmic Forge (PC)
Theme Park (PC)
Theme Hospital (PC)
Command and Conquer (PC)
Dungeon Keeper (PC)
Wolfenstein (PC)
Sonic and Knuckles (SEGA)

So many fond memories of when games were made to be GAMES, not super-graffix realistic simulations.
