LOL at dj trace's unreadable review (yet again) and robdawg being the authoritative word on pvd...

PICS OR STFU!!!!!!!!!

hey y'all, a couple of my friends went last night. they said they had an amazing time. my two cents: each person's experience at these gigs are unique depending on how much they like the dj, the venue, the music, what their mood was, etc.

I cought Victor Dinaire set on Comcast Music Choice - it was 10x better. PvD hasn't played any exciting sets since like 2002/3 in Roxy.

I am done with PvD for a while.

What a night it turned out to be. I loved the space. Great venue to hold the masses of 21+. I was up in the center of VIP balcony with Paul pretty much straight ahead of me watching the crowd bounce like lunatics and Paul pump his fists, jump up and down and get really into before the minor meltdown. Then things started to get really hard before he went into his routine of classics. I had the best company all night long. Kathy and Annie, 2 of my favorite ladies, you rock. Me and the fellas held shit down. Made was pimped out and took care of business. Besides my head ringing for a while in the morning everything was great.

I expected all of his played out tracks to be played tonight. New space and venue and we know that PVD is obviously not tired of them which is why he continues to drop them. I think if he was at roxy, spirit or crobar he would have left some of them out. Who really knows tho, he is the best dj out there and can play whatever he wants whenever he wants.

TELL ME WHY requested by Sandman and myself was the highlight of the night. Its been 4 years since SF '02 that we been waiting to hear it live again so that was such a fucking treat. The place went BaNaNaS for that build up!!!!!!!

I cant wait to do it again. Jay, its always a pleasure to rock out with you. To my friend Brianna, I hope you are feeling better now. It was pure caos. To everyone else I met up with, it was great seeing you all. I hope you all had as much fun as I did although I dont think any of you could have Additions to the tracklist to come later tomorrow. Thats enough from me for now. I gtg get some sleep.

PVD played that "Hottest Record In New York" track. Last and only time I've heard that played was at SummerStage two years ago. I don't think it's ever been IDed.

paul did not play pictures.

two great moments:

Second Sun - Playground (Nu NRG Remix) into
John O'Callaghan - Vendetta

Marco V - Red Blue Purple into
Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night

he played the same two track combos in san francisco 2 weekends ago but it was so packed it was hard to enjoy. it was nice on saturday to have some room to tear the floor up.

paul also played:

Paul van Dyk - Stormy Skies
ID [world in my eyes]
Placebo - Every You Every Me
Deep Dish - Sacremento (?? remix)
DK8 - Murder was the Bass

there are some more that are missing from the list. i should have wrote them down yesterday on the way home from nyc.

the first 3 hours were incredible. totally mind blowing - it was great to share these moments with my pvd crew. you guys rock! after the sound outage at 3am, it just seemed like paul lost the crowd or we lost him. there were a few good tracks played after 3, but i just couldn't get back into it and he seemed completely bored at times or was trying too hard to 'sell it'. maybe i just danced too hard the first 3 hours, who knows.

yeah, a great night in some ways and really lacking in others. just wish the last hour had been memorable and not a complete waste of my time.
