as opposed to techno which is.............................?

Hard Trance in the style of Alphazone, Tracid (whom I happen to love), and Dumonde (likewise) is awesome. Its hard and energetic, yet it still has the strong melody lines. Its not bonkers hard, but its harder, which is good.

i think what is funny here is why someone who claims to like luminaries such as steve lawler, danny tenaglia, and jeff mills is also liking hellraiser.

LOL THATS JUST FUCKING RIGHT.

I HAVE A DIVERSE TASTE IN MUSIC.
I AM PICKY AND FUSSY WITH IT.
IT RANGES FROM EVERYTHING FROM ELVIS TO MADONNA TO ABBA TO MOTLEY CRUE TO MANOWAR TO IRON MAIDEN TO MARIACHI MEXICAN MUSIC TO DEEP DARK DIRTY TRIBAL HOUSE, ETC.

I AM A RARE BREED, ONE OF A KIND.

HOWEVER WITH ALL THE MUSIC THAT I LOVE, I HAVE A DISTINCTIVE PASSION FOR IT.

WHATEVER MUSIC I MAY HAVE LIKED YEARS BEFORE, I WILL NOT EVER DISMISS IT AND BAG IT, AS LIKE I SAID I HAVE A PASSION FOR MUSIC!

I GUESS THATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME AND OTHERS WHO JUMP THE BANDWAGON & END UP BAGGING THE MUSIC THEY ONCE ROCKED TO!

lol mandi you missing the whole point . most of us has moved on from the hard shit, that was what i meant by growing up. someone like sez ended up liking tek, and i might like 80s disco house, for example . the point being that as we grow older our tastes change as well

I GET THE WHOLE POINT

I THINK YOU ARE MISSING MY POINT.

ofcourse people change & their musical tastes change.
Ive come to appreciate a lot of new sounds too.
HOWEVER, i just think people who bag musical genres where once they used to listen to it is well, 'wrong'.

That just proves that it was a 'phase' and that the person never had a real passion for that style of music.

Yes i know you like it hard, first time i met you was at a Pharmacy party LOL.

lol, however wrong it is, i think that is the point of my whole existance on TA. i pride myself on bagging shit genres because i can, and because i always have a good reason why plus nobody can stop me from doing it, and its as simple as that. same thing why you did the things you did on CV.

Its only wrong if they are bagging it out to be cool / fit in / be a sheep.

I've listened to Trance since pretty much when it all started... and what I appreciated the most about it at the time was - there was nothing else that sounded quite like it... Today there are a plethora of genres that derive from Trance, and its not exactly a fresh sound anymore particularly when producers seem to always follow the same format and style and use the exact same sounds in every single track. As a result many, including myself have become disintereted in the genre - it lacks creativity and originality ( hence the reason i got into producing )

Irrespective of the fact that i think youre a bit annoying, I tend to agree with you on your point regarding - having a variety of musical tastes. Listening to Hard 'hold onto my pocket p00ftah' trance / dance is your perogative
