Top-10 tunes sounds quite "poppy". I'll do "top-10" albums instead . In random order...
PHP:
- "Crash OST" MUST be heard! The movie was good but the soundtrack is even better!Beautifull dark ambient soundscapes with epic crescendos.
PHP:
- "In the Absence of blight". Lawrence is a deep techno connossieur. This is his first album and the only one i have.(He has produced another one which is entitled as "this night will last forever").Deep techno/electronica experimentation that radiates emotion.
PHP:
-"Dualizm". Jori hulkkonen is known for his deep house/techno productions, but this is a retro-futuristic electro-house, synth-pop gem.80s style vocals, analogue dreamy synth-lines and electro elements make a very good album!
PHP:
- "Fyuti" .Ambient master Chris "Bola" if i rememeber with his second album. Although, this could be weaker in relation to the previous and next ones ("soup" and "gnayse" respectively) it's masterfully engineered and is my personal favorite right now.Whole organic worlds are entrapped in this LP.
PHP:
- "Brighter than Neon Love". The stuff that electric dreams are made off. This has it all.Analogue synth soundscapes, 80s new wave vocals,The "a-la" joy Division type of tribal drumming, epic quitars, driving bass and a healthy amount of funk and house."Blade-runner pop".
PHP:
- "Silence". This is another 80s electro-clashy(but not trashy) inspired album, but probably the BEST one i've heard so far!!!Neo-synth-pop it is but, waayyy much better than the last effort by depeche mode in my opinion!Epic and drammatic lead-lines everywhere here.It could actually be aprecciated by a daring ASOT fan!
PHP]Windy & Carl[/PHP]-"Depths". Another typical "deep sea-inspired-ambient-album"?Not so. Reverbed quitars and synths creating colossal walls of sound. In these sound-worlds, a few lonely notes could suddenly appear...must be heard at night with headphones...
PHP:
- "Times Like These-1999-2006". Space italo-disco is back with a vengeance!!!Yes, it's all here, the funky rhythms, the sequenced moroderesque electro-bass, the tear-jerking romantic melodies and a fair amount of spacey synths. "Rendez-vous at Rimini"...!
PHP:
- "Drawning in A Sea of Love". Wow, what can i say about this...an album by an electronica genius.Inspired mainly by the "Boards of Canada" (and IDM in general), with a fair amount of post-rock (mogwai)dynamism (the crescendos)thrown in.Just beautifull music.I bought this a few months ago and it hasn't left my cd player since. |
thats kinda trippy
