0-0 at half-time, 3-0 full time. Might not look very impressive considering the germans trashed them 7-0, but I guess you had to see the game, I'm pleased with the way we played, making lots of good offensive combinations.

Simão scored 2 and made a good game after entering at half-time, but man of the match has got to be Figo. He wasn't great against Cape Verde but shown today he can still play at his very best, this is the same Figo of Euro 2000! Good goal too, hope he can play like this in the actual cup.

Ronaldo played well but again completely lost his mind by attacking a luxemburguese's neck (!) as a retaliation for a foul. He really needs some extra emotional control.

Despite my Ricardo Carvalho avatar, my biggest concerns are in the centre of defence. Jorge Andrade is very missed, the Carvalho-Meira duo doesn't seem to be working very well. The Luxembourg striker won several headers which is worrying.

Our first half was depressing... hopefully Scolari will finally decide that Costinha's place is on the bench and replace him with Petit.

ANGOLA!!

I don't agree at all. Costinha may be out of the fields for over a year but the extra defensive consistency he gives to the team is obvious. On the Cape Verde game the diference when he came in was huge. Not saying Petit is crap, or should be out of the team, cause it might very well be a good idea to put him alongside Costinha. Maniche seems to be improving but doesn't fully convince me. Was hoping to see a bit more from Tiago but he wasn't great neither. Having Costinha taking care of the defence with Petit helping back but looking at every opportunity to put a long shot is a good idea IMO.

And I don't think our first half was that bad. Far from brilliant but we still had some good combinations and were very unlucky not to score.

LOL! He's fucking stupid. They didn't give him visa to come there to watch the games. I'm actually happy about that, bc I knew it would make a big mess!

I just compare the first half team (with Costinha) and the second half one (with Petit), and things were completely different. Luxembourg on the first half had one or two major chances, they hit the woodwork once and managed to stay 45 minutes without condeeding (probably a record or something ). On the second half things were completely different and we managed to play some good football, with Petit the midfield improved very much... as least it's my opinion

I dunno, but probably, I'd pick these ones as the starting eleven: Ricardo; Nuno Valente, Fernando Meira, Ricardo Carvalho, Miguel; Petit, Tiago, Simão Sabrosa, Figo, Ronaldo; Pauleta. And just because we always play on a 4-5-1... I'm more of a 4-4-2 person.

Deco out?

I know he didn't do great saturday, but still I'd much rather keep him on the team and leave Simão in alert at the bench to any sign of Ronaldo madness.

The team played better with Figo in the middle, but it was only one game against a crap team, remember the long ass time we've tried to find solutions for Deco's place and nobody ever did the job as well as he does, and that is including Figo.

btw, yesterday: Angola 0 United States 1
