I think North Americans (well a lot of them anyway) that a game cannot be exciting in any sport if there is no scoring! I prefer goals but watching great saves and developing play is part of liking football. Goals do not come easy.

^ agreed for the most part.

i dunno about others here but i watch soccer for a few reasons:
1> obv i love the sport on a whole and a lot of it has to do with the suspense of the potential goal but doesn't affect me all that much if a goal is scored because all the emotion is in that buildup- constant rollercoaster
2> (particularly in the WC) to get samples of a team's performance (ie overall: defence, attacks, passing coordination, strength in midfield/backline, etc) in order to dictate how they will do in a future matches against other teams.

just my 2 cents. even tho both the argies and holland were going ahead, i think it was still a great time and i really underestimated the dutch. your uniforms make my eyes bleed but you played a nice game. (Y)

LMAO

one of my co-workers always says that about Holland as well. He is from Portugal so his excuse to me already today was "if Portugal looses on Sunday I guarantee it is cuz of the reflections of those orange uniforms"

well said. obviously a goal or 3 livens things up but as far as goalless draws go, this match wasn't too bad at all.. kept me entertained anyway

Well, we know who the prisoners in Gitmo/Guantanamo bay are rooting for...

congrats to holland for holding on for a 0-0 tie.

i was watching bits and pieces of the game @ work. it sucked to not be able to really watch the game. but it looked like both teams were at each others throats competing for posession of the ball. i was uncomfortable w/seeing holland playing in argentinas half of the field in the begining. then when i saw that argetina looked like they were controlling the match, i was thinking "any time now, death to the orangee!" -if you ever heard a korean person pronounce 'orange' you will understand how i was hearing it my head... ;p

no, it was boring because both teams played far from their full potential and at some points didn't care. some of the most spectacular players in the pitch like Riquelme and Messi did very poor games. it was pretty much a glorified friendly.

i've seen great 0-0s. Barcelona-Milan this season in the CL. Sweden-Trinidad & Tobago this world cup. this game wasn't anywhere near these in quality and excitement IMO.

+1

Holland without Robben just isnt Holland either, it was a good match for Van der vaart to get more playing time after his injury and kil his rust if he has any.
As a whole, Game dissapointed me though .
