No.

They stopped playing it because it was overplayed...because it was more popular than Rocker, having broke electro into the mainstream, something Rocker did not do, thus rendering your argument into dust.

And all the "respected, underground DJs" aren't on any DJ mag polls. That's why they're respected and underground. The DJs on DJ mag polls are socially aggressive attention whores who play feather-lite pap. Rather poorly.

To give him some credit, I believe the use of quote marks meant he didn't personally regard them as respected or underground, rather the majority do and he was quoting them.

as a former artist on dischord records, I can tell that ishkur's statement is totally historically accurate, at least for me personally.

Melodic, chilly and spacey progressive house, trance and breaks from guys like Andrew K, Bart van Wissen, Benz & MD, Blue Room Project, Boom Jinx, Cassino & Laben, Cates & DPL, Clubbervision, Damien Heck, Darioef, Derek Howell, DJ Tarkan, Digital Witchcraft, Jay Lumen, Joel Armstrong, Jordan Daniel, Madoka, Matthew Dekay, Moonbeam, Opencloud, Peter McCowan, Pinkbox Special, Ray Calman, Retroid, Shiloh, Snake Sedrick, Storyteller, Subsky, The Last Atlant, V-Sag, Yvel & Tristan and many others. These guys I think are really talented and produce really enjoyable music IMO. Could definitely see more of these guys getting popular, and many already are. Yeah I know prog house has been around a while and has been popular, but these guys produce stuff that has more melody, and is rhythmic too, which I prefer to some of the other prog stuff that is mostly rhythm. It's not really Markus Schulz or Armin stuff....they hardly play any of these guy's stuff except maybe Matthew Dekay or Boom Jinx.

I've pretty much been over minimal for a year already, it has its place & some good tracks but like everything that becomes remotely popular, there's way too much shit out there for me to be arsed wading through, especially since I never liked it much.

Won't happen mate, believe me.

old-skool hardcore will be the big sound everyone's imitating.

already happened twice, Ratpack brought the nu-skool break back in 1998, and hardcore itself came back in 2002 but then has died again due to the fact anything sounding like it is linked to chavs, scum & the like. Luna-C is pretty much the hottest non-scum dj out there in the hardcore world now, and that's only because he innovates a lot to keep his sounds fresh. Old skool 'rave' might get more of a lookin again, i honestly don't know, but hardcore itself has already been & gone, it needs to die again before it can reinvent.

D&B has been good the last 2 years, but it depends how long it continues to be fun on how easily they can make money from it.

Psytrance is my latest love (in many forms) and it is having a bit of a renaissance simply because the melodic side that made goa so good is slowly creeping back into some artists, it'd gone arse up about stupid breakdowns, weird sounds & shit, but some artists are looking backwards & realising that a good melody is what true goa is about.
