I don't think it's unreasonable to expect legal recourse in a case where someone claims to have info that someone died in your establishment and implies that there's a cover up. Even saying "I heard that...but not sure if it's true" could possibly be construed as slander/libel/whatever, I would think? |
If a club, or any other business, loses revenues due to an individual's words or actions they may seek legal action. So unless they can sufficiently prove that the cause of the damage was due to that individual stepping out of line, then they have no case. And I would think something like this would be extremely difficult to link back to one statement, considering the number of factors involved in running a club.
If my legal interpretation is wrong, someone in law or familiar with law (Jayx1 ), please correct me.
