i think the orangeville towers have more to do with the CRTC than spending cash. CIDC (DC 103) was originally a regional orangeville station playing adult contemporary until they flipped formats in 1995. They even had their studios there. Hence why they have the towers in orangeville. If they broadcasted off the CN Tower they would probably interfere with other stations sharing that frequency in other markets.

all radio stations are licensed by crtc and according to crtc they all have to have their signal compressed to -3db so i don't know what you are talking about 100.7's signal is perfectly fine and clear, i was receiving it w/o antenna as for energy, their signal is distorted in most areas of toronto, unless you listen to their transmission over the net

buddy if CIDC would be interfering with other frequencies i don't think crtc would allow them to opperate btw 101.3 and 103.5 were both around and operating together w/o a problem for a really long period of time, you should ask manuel about that since he hosted one of his channels on that frequency

um...i dont think u get what im saying..

some frequencies dont have another channel nearby sharing the same frequency and thus can have a greater signal strength and tower height (as FM relies on line of sight as well) depending on their location.

i suspect the reason 103 is still in orangeville is because i believe there is a 103.5 station in cleveland that a signal off the cn tower would probably interfere with.



and i never said anything about 103.5 interfering with 104.5. But there is an allowance granted between channels in a market so as they do not interfere with each other. I believe its .4 on either side of the frequency but dont quote me on that. Obviously having multiple transmittors on the CN tower isnt going to cause problems.

105.1 has a clear signal in the areas you can receive them. Ive never had a problem in my car. Sadly the signal only covers metro toronto and southern york region but again thats due to the fact that there are other stations sharing the 105.1 frequency within very close proximity to Toronto.
