i think what they ment by the lyrics is: example.. if you have been in love with someone and the break-up really hurts (maybe ur girl cheated on u or something), u get angry, u can tell the girl u hate her, and 10 mins later regret it and tell her u love her out of frustration.. its really turned into a love\hate relationship..because forgiveness is difficult or smth-. conclusion: love can really mess ur head up and hurt really bad.

at least thats what hit me first when i heard it..
