bringthebeats (on TRIBE) gave the set out to the wrong person. once a set is leaked, it's too late. by now i would guess that 100+ people have snagged this, and it will continue to get into peoples hands regardless if you have that link moved.
i'm curious as to why you personally feel the need to get this rectified. unless of course you were the one who distributed the copy. if you aren't, then why not let the person at fault suffer the concequences? |
yes i posted one of the 2 uploads. i didnt personally upload it. we were all under the impression that it was ok as the person that recorded it hadnt clearly stated his reasons for recording the set and lee on the night of his gig as well as when he was on the way to the airport said it was fine to spread it. . but by personal request of lee himself, we have managed to get the links taken down on all the message boards we know it was copied onto.
because it was in the span of 12 hours overnight on the weekend, not that many people had downloaded it (from what we assume) so it was ok to take them down still.
now we dont know the status of sharing yet so until we hear anything, i dont think we should have it up...wouldnt u think so too?
u cant have a radio broadcast of a set that everyone already has (in the current case, not everyone does yet so it might still be possible to)

On the one hand, I really see no point in taking the set down. There's a good number of people that have it already, and it's only a matter of time before someone posts it on another forum, and it starts spreading more and more.
On the other though, both the DJ and the person who recorded the set asked to not release it. Not only that, but the DJ himself said right after his gig that it's ok to release it.
Seems like a whole lot of miscommunication going on, and there really isn't one person to blame here.
I could care less, to be honest. I'm happy I finally got my hands on this dirty, twisted, mindfucking set. Whether the set gets the "ok" or not again, doesn't matter. A number of people have gotten their hands on it and there's no doubt that they'll share it with their friends, and they with their friends.
Plus, wasn't the point of recording this set so that we could relive this night, and share the set with people? Seems a little overreactive at this point in time to take the set down.
