Excellent point, this is very true and has happened to me many a time before, simply pull up a stool and wait it out, when (s)he's ready they'll come over and say hi 
My summary of the thread is Don't bother the DJ, as he or she is doing their job and not there for socializing, and if ya don't know who it is or the music just keep your mouth shut!
