Okay, my attempt at a review, haha. Uhhh.... yeah.
...
Right, so trying again, this was definitely a people night more than it was a tunage night, at least for me. Twas great having all of your friends all in one place, and having someone to talk to no matter where you go. Chatted with soooooo many people last night - besides my regular friends, i talked to some TAs I never talk to, and just some outright randoms, lol. Good stuff for sure.
Had a little too much pre-drinking at Katie's, so we got to the club late, and I was already pretty mashed by the time we got to the lineup (I'm glad I had no issues getting in because of that), where right away we met up with Tyler and Lindsey. Got inside at 11:50, and Adam F was killing it. The track that was playing when we walked in (I think it was a Clipz track, but I can't remember the name), and then for the next 10 minutes that he was on, it was just wiiicked Jungle. I'm THOROUGHLY pissed i missed the beginning of his set. NO MORE LOAFTING before clubs!
OMG. Right after I gave in my coat, I go down to Parkview, where I think OS/2 was finishing up, and boom, he drops System F - Exhale, and not only that, but at that moment I find Bogdan, Marina and company. That was an incredible moment. Fucking love that song.
Then I remember just walking around the place just meeting people. Ducked into Liberation Lounge for a bit when Dennis Hahn was on - TAs were representing that room well, lol. But overall the music was meh, so I went back to main room were Ray Keith was on. WOW, Brutal. He was playing some Jungle mixes of Hip-Hop, and it was horrible, HORRIBLE I tell you. I don't know what possessed him to think that playing hip-hop songs over a jungle beat is a good idea, but he was very very wrong. And this is coming from pretty much a JungleAddict. Way to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Then I think it was the Breaks room for me upstairs with Lopi, Az, Liam, Tony, and Dannie (p.s. since when are you that crazy about Breaks? Good stuff. ) Aquasky TOOORE it apart. Solid tunage from him - some new, some old, some I never heard before, ALLL GOOD. When I was a yout I used to burn Cali weed in Rizzlah, Rizzlah. I loved his set, and stuck around till D-Monic started, but by that time I wanted to hear something else, so I walked downstairs to where Reid Speed (Damn that girl is sexy) was spinning DNB. And as soon as I walk down, she drops some RIDICULOS remix of Beastie Boys - Intergalactic. I went mental. I took a video of it, I think, but I'm not sure how it came out. I'll post it later if it's not utter shit.
Then all the DNB and Breaks finally killed my legs, so I went back upstairs to relax and listen to Reid Speed's Breaks set. Can't remember it at all. Hahha, met a schoolmate (Adam Fabicki) there too. Weird meeting people that you normally see in a school-environment. Totally didn't recognize him.
At 4 we made our way down for Kyau vs. Albert. To be honest, I wasn't wowed with their set. They dropped enough nice songs, but I don't really remember being all that impressed by the set in general. It was good stuff, but I've heard a lot of much better Trance sets before. The best thing about their set was the TA-stage behind them. That was insanity. At one point, I remember Aldona (Endlesswave's friend) asking me if all the people up there were TAs, and I looked around and realized that 90% of the people up on the stage were in fact TAs. Awesome.
Had a smashing good time overall, thanks to everyone who I had the pleasure of sharing it with.
