Dave, I wasn't implying that you should call out who you have a problem with. I think it's pretty well known. My post was a general statement to people who are always bashing TOTAs as a general group.

I hope I didn't offend you with my post, Dave. I've told you many times before that I have great respect for you, and you are one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met.

Your argument is a pretty convenient one. You use the example of having a disagreement about a set on TA as grounds for being able to ignore your differences when encountering that person at a club. However, not all disagreements on here are that light hearted, and some of them become quite personal.

As it has been said before, the internet is a means of communication. Saying something offensive to someone on the internet does not make it less offensive than if it was said it real life.

I probably wouldn't approach someone that I didn't really know about something that happened on TA in a club (unless it was really offensive), but you can be sure that I wouldn't be nice to them and just forget that it happened.

I have had the pleasure of partying with both, and I can safely say, people are people. Every city has their good, bad and ugly.

I've been told that in life, you tend to attract people who are similar to you, and I firmly believe it. If you are a drama queen, it will follow you.

I love TA's in general, because they are here for the same reason as me, to enjoy music.

I think this is probably the most important statement said so far in this thread.

Frankly - at some point, all people act like asses on TA (some more than others). The key is having the foresight to understand when acting like an ass can result in a negative outcome for someone involved (including oneself).

The person who is always sour and critical on TOTA - usually gets treated as such in real life - no matter how good of a person they are outside of TOTA.

The person who is always flippant and argumentative - should expect people to perceive them to be the same outside of the forum (regardless of their positive character).

The person who is always bizarre, nonsensical, aloof, sarcastic, unsophisticated - should expect people to perceive them to be the same outside of the forum (regardless of their positive character)..

We all act in the above roles on occasion - but I can clearly say that some act in a role consistently. Ask yourself the question - what role do I act in on TOTA? Is it positive? Is it negative? Is it genuine? Is it sarcastic? It is nice? Is it hurtful? Is it mature? Is it childish?

Seriously consider: How do people perceive me? Does it match how I really am?

The isolated incidents are not what people remember - it's the overall trend!

Everybody should approach any interaction (online and otherwise) with an opportunity to present themselves in the highest light - for all the good characteristics and features they are. I think that if everybody kept this underlying goal in mind when communicating with people not only would they be doing themselves a great favor but they'd also be building many more bridges (vs. building many more walls).

My $0.02 (change is gladly accepted).
