The nice thing about using something like traktor or other computer based systems I think it that you can always upgrade to a vinyl/CDJ hybrid with all the modules out there with time coded discs/records. So you can have all your music in one format on your computer and you could decide to use decks one day or just a small midi controller another or an external mixer etc.

I'd say that Sasha & Max Graham's approach is quite valid (simply based on their success).
If you want to put it that way, Sasha and Max Graham stands out as one of the few (well, relatively few) 'big name' DJs who have gone to Ableton while most others are using CDJs. *shrug*

I'm not too sure about with software or midi controllers but with stuff like scratching and beat juggling you can only do with turntables. Stuff like what Eddie Halliwell and James Zabiela does.

I have a friend who's a big Hip-Hop DJ, scratcher etc. He does it pretty much full time, and he switched to Serato about a year ago. Watching him do some sick scratching up close using his laptop as the source sold me on the idea.

JZ is also way out of the league of anything Cro_Addict hopes to accomplish, no offence Cro.

Does anyone have a mixer for sale?
Nothing fancy, but preferably with some effects.
I am liking the Numark DXM06
