haha sounds like vermont is like cali. at will state. they arent required to give a reason. they just cant be doing it on paper for discriminatory reasons even though you know they are.

jenny: the states that pay the most are at will states. california and new york have the highest wages in the nation but are also at will states.

actually it's pretty much like that every where in the USA. Only large corporations, who are afraid of lawsuits bother with just cause. This is for the most part for protection against racial discrimination claims.
