Ok the promoter fucked up, but in the case for any normal dj, they would surely get to the gig.........if they really wanted to. Not difficult really.

I am sure the Tiesto franchise would have found a way to convert the cash to a currency of his choosing at some point when they stopped of at one of the various airports on his world tour, right??

From my own perspective, it looks like Tiesto is only in in for the money now and not the fans at all.

Again bullshit, even small time djs visiting other countries to play are being picked-up by the promoter and brought to the club or festival. In many cases they also have special transportation before the gig from the airport to the hotel. It's normal and it is stated in ALL contracts. Of course tiesto could get a cab but the promoter should have these things organised and again it's stated in the contract.

Big name artist like tiesto is flying accros the world constantly, with his kind of sheduele you don't want to be bothered with organising taxis or exchanging money. TO prevent this kind of things contracts are being made and signed. EVERY dj works this way, not only tiesto. It's a proffesional industry, contracts and riders are very important these days.

Since you brought up riders, has anyone seen or does anyone have one of Tiesto's riders? I'd love to see it and know what he requests...

no no no... a TECHNICAL RIDER... these are parts of the contracts that the promoter signs as part of booking the artist. In the tech riders, the promoter agrees to get certain foods/objects/equipment that the artist needs for the show. Usually, they are a certain food, meal, dessert, drink, etc. They also include things for the tour like the type of room/number of bathrooms, equipment, towels, computers with internet access, and even transportation.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/backstagetour/index.html has a list of some of the tech riders for some famous rock artists.

I would like to see what Tiesto's looks like and what kind of supplies/food/equipment are needed in order to book him.
