i didn't mind the warm up set... a set building up to pulverturm 2 gets me ready for anything even if the change in style when menno came on was abrupt
i went to hear some uplifting, fist-pounding trance anthems and that's what i got from menno i recognized a lot of siiiick tracks that were in his recorded sets going around. the only song that stuck out like a sore thumb to me was 'anthem' which made me go to the gallery for a little bit hahah... but the rest of the set seemed consistent from track to track, and he wasn't continually changing up the style by playing an overplayed gimmicky track (eg. life less ordinary) or anything, which seems to have become the norm to other DJs...
the closing set was much better as it picked up right where menno finished and kept the energy he built up going for quite a while...
everything fell into place perfectly for me this event, wasn't too crowded, friendly people, a ton of hilarious random moments... was great meeting abercrombie, italianpoison, darouge, nostrum, funkycrew, cenic, ozmosis and his friend who will apparently sign up for TA, invasionmix (and anyone else i missed) even though some of those conversations were short... and of course it's always great partying alongside everyone i've met already as well
