all the same (no pun intended), "equal" refers only to civil rights, and men and women are most certainly different in many ways. Obviously thousands of years of culture are going to result in some sort of numerical discrepancy.

In the past women were expected to live certain lives and men to live certain other lives. There have been many great female artists in the past, but since painting was an apprentice based thing or a school based thing, it was hard for women to get into it with such a preordained life. Even now we still feel the effects of this division, though much less.

Check Out Artemisia Gentileschi

She was able to get into painting because her father was an important painter.

that's not too far off from the truth if you replace "are" with "were".

that's funny...i just recently met a very cool chick who is an architect. she's gorgeous too (colombian) and has an awesome personality. she's very comfortable in her skin and is funny and animated when she talks. i was really impressed with her and we clicked instantly.

Haha, fuck. I just can't win can I?

Edit: And yeah, it is pretty basic sociology/psychology, but I have a psych degree so meh, might as well regurgitate some stuff.

I never said they were. To reiterate, one's intellectual level can easily be overshadowed by irrational and illogical behavior

more so in women. I'm yet to see a man acting erratically for no reason. Women can freak out/bitch about the most insignificant little things.

my boss is the most irrational moody mother******. omg. and he's a dude btw.

but yea, the irrational thing is more apparent in women i've noticed.

i have an emotional/irrational side to me, but as i get older, i've mellowed out a lot. i think i have a pretty good head on my shoulders for a chick

Why not?

Nature doesn't consist of shit like success and wealth, it's simply about procreation and the continuation of a species.

Being a mother is hard-coded into a woman's dna, hence the whole getting broody thing (which I am aware can apply to guys too).

It's only the current state of society that causes humans to stray from the biological norms, such as not raising a family.

It's not easy for a few generations of development to change the fundamental design of the human race which has been around for 200,000 years.

Thanks you very much for acknowledging that.

It's just that I'm a bit pissed off about the current state of our society where women are encouraged to act like men and some men are starting to act like women (flamboyant homos and metrosexuals).

If I ever happen to get a GF that would ramble to me about gender equality and all that BS, I will offer her to change oil in my car, mow the lawn, shovel snow, etc. Certain tasks are meant for men or for women.
