I found trance mostly through the internet at 14, and I don't think it was as widely used or even utilized in the early 90s..as far as music like with Internet Radio and MP3 file sharing as it was in the late 90s, early 2000s. Probably why I and some others didn't get into this really early stuff...we didn't even know it existed (I didn't till I got on TA).

i'd say there are a lot of diggers / researchers on TA. i'd probably fall into that category. i'm only 24, but know most of those songs (it's really all of the newer trance i'm not that familiar with and really all of those tunes are kinda the more popular songs of their time...they aren't obscure or rare by far). i think it's really interesting to dig back through the history of electronic music. i wouldn't say that most of us besides old farts like grimreaper has always known about all that old stuff, but it's fun to go back and find stuff that is maybe lost and forgotten hehe

I'm not any sort of divine character you know.. i haven't always known all of the stuff i know nowadays. Since day one i have just wanted to find out what am i listening, who are behind what aliases and what else have they done worth listening. That's why i always tend to know stuff because i dig up stuff and somewhat useless info not everyone else would. Some of it has stuck in my brains along the way but i'm more like a hybrid of a booksmart nerd and an eccentric with a photographic memory about certain things.

But what if you don't have the time to dig? I mean that's the biggest thing. You can barely find them on vinyl, let alone MP3 or CD.

Those KLF guys were crazy!

quote:
Their most notorious performance was at the February 1992 BRIT Awards, where they fired machine gun blanks into the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party. This performance announced The KLF's departure from the music business, and in May 1992 the duo deleted their entire back catalogue.

Guys, I'm pretty sure every track that's been mentioned in this thread has been produced by 'Dj Mystik'.
