wait aren't you

(B) haven't lived in Seattle much of your life

???

So you are telling me you walked around analyzing the Goth to non-Goth ratio in Seattle when you were 6? I suppose you have the cure to AIDS too?

No there was not a surplus of goth pets in 1997, but there were enough that went to my high school and went to raves. They were actually nice people. Aside from their attire and music, they accepted me more than any other group. Long live goths.

A.) I'll be 21 at the end of April. Class of '05. I would've been 10.
B.) The room that I am in right now has been my primary place of sleep since I was three months old. Born and raised Seattle-ite.

No, I did not "walk around analyzing the Goth to non-Goth ratio in Seattle." However, as a kid I always thought that Goths were very freaky people. Having spent quite a bit of my childhood out and about, I can safely say that we never had any sort of an "influx." I really wouldn't consider the number of Goths at a "rave" to be any sort of reflection on the number that reside in a city. That's like saying, "Wow, there sure are a lot of candy kids here, I guess a lot of the city must be like this!"

I just really like that people feel it doesn't matter what they say or how they act, as long as they aren't directly affecting someone else people should just accept their lifestyle/ what they say.

Freedom of speech and self expression is protected under law. You can say what you want and express yourself in whatever way and not be put in prison. However people can react any damn way they want as long as they aren't violating your rights. And that might mean you need to have your master buy a damn car.

That being said, I have absolutely no problem with their lifestyle. It doesn't offend or bother me one bit. I am just tired of people using freedom of speech and expression as a reason to get away with doing anything without repercussion. You made the choice to live that lifestyle, now accept the fucking consequences.

I never said pet goths or goths in general were a LARGE trend. I'll elaborate more on my personal knowledge. Goth pets were at my high school, at raves, and all over Seattle, though usually concentrated around the Space Needle, Capitol Hill, and the U-District. I think there's still a goth store on Capitol Hill that sells pet goth stuff. I saw pet goths and goths in general a lot in the 90s, but they slowly contributed and dissolved into the more popular emo trend today.

I have no idea why we are even arguing. I just claimed goth pets are so Seattle 1997. It was a trend though a small one.

P.S. Why do you think it's gross? It really isn't that bad. Be a man and suck it up.

Lad, it's your duty to find ye a lass
With child-bearing hips and a pink, supple ass
And make her your wife and love her with love so true
Now some rivers run high, some rivers run low
When her river runs red, then she's starting her flow
And it's called menstr'ation, and here's what it means to you

You will notice her bloomers are spotty at first
Stand back – her ovarian dam's gonna burst
Son, don't be afraid, it's a natural t'ing
Just wad up some cotton and hand her some string
Put the old linens on top of the bed
Get out of the house and go down to the old pub instead

She'll retain her water, her breasts will be tender
And every third word that you say will offend her
Get out of the house and go down to the old pub instead
And she'll want to make love – if you do, you're a fool
'Cause you'll only end up with a bloody O'Toole
Get out of the house – down to the old pub instead

And she'll want you to sample the fruit of her loins
But son, it'll taste like some old rusty coins
So turn off the light, boy, and take off your hat
And drop to your knees, say a prayer to Saint Pat
Then he'll give you the strength to get out of the bed
And for Ireland's sake, go down to the old pub instead

Now the pub is the place where the lads are a-meetin'
When the moon's full and the gals are a-bleedin'
The Catholic, the Protestant, even the pagan
The pub is the place when your lady is raggin'
So drink of your pint, boys, and thank your shamrocks
That as menfolk we don't have to bleed from our cocks
And that we can escape from the lady in red
And get out of the house and go down to the old pub instead

Down to the old pub instead , by stephen lynch

Huh, I did not know that. You just scored a shitload of points. Whereabouts are you from?

There are one or two goth shops on Capitol Hill (and one occult shop which scares the hell out of me every time I pass it.), though it's mostly populated by your typical left-wing hippie/indie/vegan/emo crowd. Not really many around the Space Needle, and I never venture into the U-District often enough, but I'd say it's about the same crowd as Capitol Hill.

I don't know why we're arguing, either. I guess I misinterpreted your first post as though you were saying it was a rather large trend that kind of "swept the area" so to speak. My apologies.
