Seriously though; I could see why you hate that book.

It's more of an essay on politics than a true story, and doesn't have a real plot as such, though I quite enjoyed it.

Did you read it in English or ze German? Perhaps something was lost in translation?

That's precisely the reason I hate it. Orwell has some interesting things to say about politics and totalitarian regimes, but as a work of literature 1984 just sucks. Reading that was annoying as hell, like he decided to wrap the few interesting parts with layers of shit.

And worst of all, it brought about one of worlds most stupid TV shows.
