Christians prepare themselves for this by spending the Lenten season reflecting on their lives and taking action to correct those things about them that they feel are inconsistant with the ministry of Jesus. Unfortunately, most people associate this season with giving up something of tokin value as though it were some great sacrafice. Myself, I'm not giving up anything, rather, I am preparing myself for Easter by contemplating my life in comparison with the virtues espoused by Jesus in the Beatitues and will be attempting to move myself closer to those virtues.

You're exactly right...but giving something up makes me more focused on what i'm trying to achieve in those 40 days

Quit smoking cigs... I honestly don't like the habbit I got myself into and am much happier with herbs or just drinking alco.
