UPDATE
Dave Dresden is having shoulder surgery. Hence no more tour dates. Gabriel and Dresden will still happen, just taking a break until Dave recovers. |
I'll post the reply I put in the other thread...and add to it...
From my knowledge of going on, this is something that happened AWHILE ago...nothing recent, it just started coming out recent that it was going on...
And is your source worth trusting? (maybe it's one of the, I dunno)
Not saying you're not fibbing...but our (my and Rich's, which are all different people) sources are close to G&D....like real close....producer/DJ, friend, etc...and these people don't even know each other from what I know. One source I personally found out from seperately from Rich has known for weeks...but I wouldn't expect him to tell me. The other source is someone I'm close to and have been for years and that person has known since the beginning of March but this person swore not to tell anyone, so this person kept their word word because honestly, I was surprise that person didn't tell me (considering this person tells me a lot of things, hehe) sooner. Now if they went around telling people what they are telling and it was a lie, that would be totally messed up. But I don't think they are...no need to. Would be stupid for them to considering G&D are personal friends of theirs.
If it turns out to be false, then maybe those who are talking bullshit will revealed...but considering I'm sure G&D know about all this talk by now and aren't doing much to defuse it....think that's saying something.
I'm totally open for it all being wrong...I hope it is. G&D are some of my alltime favs. I was there at their first SF gig when they opened for Tiesto at Mezzanine when they were first starting to explode (in 2003?) and it was about the party. A five hour set a month at Ten15 for Spundae in their first residency. And while I haven't been to many of their shows in the last year+, it's been because of scheduling conflicts and not because I didn't want to be there...cause I do! Seems like I always find a way to enjoy their set...they are A LOT different now than then and I do prefer the style they had then, but I will always respect what they have done. Trance was dying and them in a couple other people did what they could to give the music a fresh breathe (some people say the opposite, but I don't!)...again, it's way different now but I still do like most of the music they play...and would love to see them together in the future....though I don't think that's gonna happen.
