Alright I guess I'll throw my 2 cents in...
First of all... great meeting Mel, Zach, RJT, Clovis, Jenny, lucid, and whoever else I'm forgetting.
DEMF was great. The people were very, how should I say it, colorful. Lots of candy kids who were fucking annoying. Outside of the festival everyone seemed fairly nice, which was surprising considering the stories about Detroit.
Music wise, my favorite sets were Burridge, Paul Ritch, Paco Osuna, Zip, Joris Voorn (last track was fucking unreal), Cobblestone Jazz... prob some more I'm forgetting.
The only afterparty we hit was Temp Tattos... nice hole in the wall feeling, hot as fuck downstairs, music was 10/10. The second Landsky came on the energy went up up up.
What I would change:
-Less festival time, more afterparties
-Stay downtown
-Less big names, more small names
Best set: Martin Landsky
Worst set: Magda
Worst mixing: Moby... this guy needs to take lessons or something. I did not really enjoy his set either, I thought it was borderline electro.
Best memory: K hole @ Temp Tattoos... Abby knows what I'm talking about
Worst memory: Watching some kid have a seizure @ Dubfire

"I loved hanging with everyone of my friends though, that other than the music was my highlight of the DEMF.Ryan,Bobby,Tuenesto,Jody,Melly,Thomas D,Infinitetrance (Thnx 4 the music bro, liked it man. Many thnxs)you guys made it worth while going."
oh wow, glad i didn't get put in that list, i sure would hate to be mistaken for one of your friends or roomate that was at DEMF(insert roll eyes) lol
i had a blast! great fcking music all weekend long!!! loved meeting some new TA's, hanging with old ones and seeing my friends from atlanta.
took the redeye friday night from LA and got there pretty early saturday, got to my hotel and crashed for a couple hours. woke up and made ryan wake up and get some food. yum, great food right next to our hotel in greektown. we stayed pretty close so we could walk to almost everything.
first day of the movement: got to the beatport stage while alland Byallo was on but didn't stay too long, we wanted to check everything out so we ran around the festival checking things out, the real detroit stage was so fcking sick although i didn't spend much time down there i loved the set up!
got back to the beatport stage for justin long and he was just rippin it up. he totally set the vibe for me from that moment on!!!! then stayed for joris voorn and deadmau5 before heading over to see moby!!! i had no expectations of his set and i was blown away, i'm sure it had a lot to do with the crowd and set up as well, it was insane, the whole experience!! i loved it.
then it was off to shower, re-energize and head to the other 9-5 party with adultnapper in the most ghetto club ever!!! but it's what i expected and wanted out of a club in detroit. there was a tent over the dj booth b/c there was a hole in the ceiling, ladders were everywhere, exposed wires were coming out of the walls, garbage everywhere, it was insane. and of course the balloons, lol!!!! good shit.
day 2 of the movement: i woke up pretty early but had to wait around on the boys to get themselves all pretty, fck, i missed an hour of konrad black b/c these metro-boys can't just throw on some clothes and get their asses down to the music, lol!!! j/k anyways.......... we get there and of course konrad is tearing it up and i start dancing and don't stop!!! the music is just phenominal!!! and then hearthrob and my God paco!!!! fck, i was in love with his set. magda was good but i had to leave at 9 pm to go get ready for temp tat. i meet up with my atlanta friends and head over to the smallest club, well not really club, it was a sushi resturant with a basement that had no moving air!!! it was hot as fck down there but as everyone else stated the music was insane!!!
we leave around 3 to head back to my friends hotel to recharge until old miami. we get there right at 7 am and the place is a huge dump but again what i expected except i didn't expect that giant back yard with all the fcked up lawn furniture!! lol too funny! the music started out slow but got better as the day wore on. although i heard it got insane later on, damnit, wish i'd a stayed but i couldn't miss lee burridge so back to the hotel to shower, change, eat and recharge.
meet up with my friends and make our way to the stage. the dj before lee was good but i was just ready for him to come on. he ended up coming on at 6 pm instead of the scheduled 5:30 but he spun until 7:30 so that's cool. and man did he throw down a sick, perfectly mixed set!!!! i just love that man and what he does behind the decks!!! truly a genius. glad i'm gonna see him again in july
then wink comes on and i'm dancing around on the grass.
the crowd was a bit thin by now and i'm noticing that there are some severe crackheads at this festival. really great people watching for sure.
made it back to the room after the rain which felt great and painfully ate some salad before i died in my bed to sleep about 10 hours! much needed. so great, everything, loved it!!!
great seeing all the TA's and meeting so many new other people!!! i'm definitely down for the punishment again, looks like i'm gonna try and do minitech in NY with some friends, the line up is too good not to try.
