I'm in my room!

I liked it the first time I saw it, but definitely not on my list of top movies.

What's your list of top movies then? As far as action movies go, I can't think of many that are better than Matrix (the original). As far as TDK though, I think Batman Begins was a better "action" movie.

Ps. Ledger's performance, while outstanding, is definitely not "Oscar-worthy."

I realise that is your personal opinion and thats cool but I think most people would argue in a different corner than you. He was without flaw, each line delivered without fail. He was true to the character in every scene; a character he redefined. He had energy, presence and charisma while captivating myself and most of the theatre. I cannot remember the last time I watched a movie and loved as much as I hated the villan.

He was the a-typical villan.

But maybe you are right, like Johnny Depp in Pirates 1 he will not go beyond nomination, when he is well deserving of winning. The average viewer can much more appreciate a perfectly executed act over a high flown over actor in a melodrama.

Ledger far exceeded my expectation.

Excellent film.

I fail. I can never think of things when I'm put on the spot. Dammit. I don't deny the goodness that is the Matrix (the original) though. I used to like it, but I think the thing the ruined it for me was that when my parents would have ppl over they would ALWAYS watch it and I woudl catch glimpses of it and it wore the movie out for me - especially since I wasn't that into the story line, and not a big fan of Keanu.

I was trying to look on FB to job my memory, and the only action movies I have listed as my fave are things like The Transporter, Crank and maybe Lock Stock? However, I definitely wouldn't say any of those are the top action movies ever made.

When I'm about to fall asleep one day they'll come to me, and I'll get up and post! Hahaha

Saw this last night, and the theatre was still packed.

For a movie that was 2.5 hours long, it made me excited (action scenes were well done), made me cringe (and disturbed by the Joker scenes), and made me think about what would happen next (unlike many of the movies that have been made at least in the past year) for the entire duration of the movie.

Kudos to the writers, and the director. I thought the plot was well written and directed. I would have not expected the kind of outcome that was unveiled for this movie. As much as I wanted it to be a "happy ending," I thought the ending was great. I'm really looking forward to the next.

The acting of the characters was good enough to do justice for the intended vision of the movie (a very dark and twisted outlook on crime, violence and terrorism). But in my opinion, not enough for an Oscar. I think it is undisputed that Heath did the best job in playing his character. I really don't want to compare his performance to Nicholson's because of the fact that their characters were written for two different time periods.

I wanted to note that the casting of actors for this movie was good as well (notably Michael Caine for Alfred).

So i finally watched it last night and in IMAX...and no i havent read any other posts (160 posts to go thru..nyope)

great great movie...

About heath ledger's performance...it was good...but i think overhyped...Aaron Eckhart's performance as Two Face was brilliant showing the transition and actually made you feel his pain in the end.

I felt that the gasping manner of speech by batman was getting annoying. If they just maintained it as him using some kind of speech modulator to mask his real voice, that wouldve worked better.

At least now we know that in the next batman, the batmobile's gonna be different (hopefully a hot one).

The whole digi vision thing was cool mainly for the fact that his eyes were white as he saw it all so it gave you the feel of the comic books and animations (batman with white eyes).

Possible villains for the next one:
Dead Shot: as any real batfans know, he comes in to help the city but has a plan to take over batman's role as savior and tries to kill him too.

as well as:
Penguin: but as Oswald Cobblepot, the mobster. The central theme of the past 2 batmans has surrounded mafia activity and his role will be the "new, dont fuck with" mobster of mobsters
