The 0.08 law is bs anyways. Even if you had some alcohol to drink but you're under 0.08, you will still get your car towed ($200+) as well as a 12 hour license suspension, so that means that they leave you in the middle of the street where you got pulled over.

This just happened to a friend of mine and none of us even knew about it! Driving schools should do a better job at explaining the law.

driving schools teach you how to operate a vehicle on the road...they don't teach the Highway Traffic Act or review every law on the books. that your job to learn

remember that there are two difference charges...driving with blood alcohol level of 0.08 or more AND driving while impaired.

i.e. blood alcohol could be ZERO and you can still be charged and convicted under the latter. It just means that evidence other than a breathalyzer test result will be needed to support that you were "impaired" (which could even be due to fatigue).

actually im alluding to how our society behaves in general. How dependent people are on the government and how no one takes responsibility for anything. And why should they when there is a law telling you how to do everything?

I would argue to leave the law alone as is. No new laws are needed IMO. And.... If ANY restriction on alcohol and age is to take place it should only be on those under 19 which is the drinking age. Otherwise its still a BS law that penalizes young adults unfairly.

Saw this in the Metro this morning. Good to hear.

Amazing how facebook has changed the game. Before politicians relied on, and bent backwards for those people who had time to write in, or call in to their offices. Now, pretty much anybody in Canada under the age of 25 is registered, and can voice their opinion. Democracy 2.0 anybody?
