This is the worst thread I had to come across this year. Not necessarily because of Krypton's glow sticking or anything even related to the intention of the original post, but it shows the decline in PLUR in our community.
I remember a time, we all remember a time when, even as hostile as we were in defending our tastes (gay house vs epic trance), that at the end out the day, we could all come together and have a nice chat in an MSN room where we should share naked pics of unpaper-bagged bodies and peacefully discuss the resolution of DDOS attacks against tranceaddict.slovakia.net
It was like the parliament, we all hated each other enough to call each other ****s (with the ambiguity of whether we really meant it), and still have a drink at the pub after wards. We'd share music, personal stories of our past, pictures of ourselves- acts which never coincided with hostility. But now, just look at us.
We are divided, painfully divided, with no means of anyone looking to unite. Trance is for fags, house is for druggie guidos, Americans are fat, ravers are immature kids, DJs have talent-is there nothing or no one we can just live?
Nobody can make a trance thread in MD without being shit on by the 'elitists' who are experts on hammers on knocking on wood (as a result of their fine listening instruments, aka the MDR-V6), nobody can make any MD thread without the approval of anyone with less hair than a slug. "there are too many sasha threads." then 2 weeks later, "there are too many Deadmau5 threads." then "oh this hasn't been done before."
There's nothing left in this premier community of EDM. Is PLUR dead? Is EDM dead? If EDM is dead, let me know, and I will have no choice but to unplug the headphones from the turntables, and call it a night. Without the communities of the humans, there would be no civilizations, and without this community, there is no EDM. Think about that. Are you willing to risk ASOT Year Mix 2009 just to make yourself feel better by ragging on someone who plays with glowsticks and makes miniscule shit threads, and has a distorted perception of reality, and has to have his hand held throughout every political discusssion?
Ask not what EDM can provide for you.
