hahaha Im not ignorant. I have watched it. Its completely your opinion, but I would rather watch the best players in the world, not the NFL's "farm teams."
Just as in soccer, I am always watching European teams over the american league because it is more entertaining to me to watch the best players and more established teams.
Trust me, making money is based on people liking it and watching it. If the CFL was really that great, then where is the overwhelming audience? Oh wait, there is none. |
So you are basing which brand of football is better because of the skills of the players?
I agree that the NFL has better players but that doesn't make the brand of football more exciting to watch. When I compare the two brands of football, to me, the CFL is a more entertaining brand. There can be several highlight reel plays every quarter and every snap is meaningful. The NFL game makes it too easy to get a first down and its a running game not a passing game. The biggest plays and the most exciting highlight reel plays come when the quarterback puts the ball in the air, not when he hands it off for a run up the middle.

Wah wah wah wah, the CFL football IS more exciting to watch, as the 3 down rule forces passing plays more often than not.
NFL games are fun to watch as well, but I very quickly tire of off-tackle left, sweep right, repeat ad nauseum with 1 or 2 passes in a drive. This is the majority of most NFL teams.
CFL teams, when running, have to do something different a lot of the time to succeed in that. Things like line stunts, pulling guard plays and other semi-crazy shit.
Sure, the players may not seem to have as much talent, but that's simply due to the lack of population being able to support such ridiculous salaries as is expected in professional sport. There are of course, exceptional players past and present, Anthony Calvillo, Mike Clemons, Angelo Mosca, Rocky DiPietro, Willie Pless, Mike Pringle, etc.
In spite of all this, the CFL still has the 3rd-highest per-game attendance of any professional sports league in all of North America. Montreal Alouettes games are seemingly sold out thousands of years in advance, and having been to many NFL games at a bunch of different stadiums, nothing comes close to the absolute shitshow of a party that is a Hamilton Ti-Cats game.
Anyway, I like both leagues, but the CFL is a faster game and isn't so horribly commercialized. I like it that way.

again, that is your opinion, but CLEARLY it is not the overwhelming majority opinion. |
Of course it isn't. Look at your country's population compared to ours.
