yeah thats tim the sound guy, not a bouncer

a bunch of ppl clearly know him based on the comments in the picture thread for above and beyond.

After seeing this video i think its fair that i comment on the fact that he violently threw me down the small flight of stairs behind the bar to the right of the stage as well.

what a giant douche, i approached him to say hello considering i had shared smokes and convos with him while i worked at guv in the past and instead i get tossed like a piece of shit. i didn't really expect him to remember me 100% right away but even if he didn't what he did was just not cool for any reason.

meh

you could clearly hear tim say,, ''you do not climb up on this effing stage,, got it'' he did push... it would be much different if the guy fell off and cracked his head open! still he didn't have to say anything.. this is the bouncers job

I also recall Tim trying to get this skasian off the speakers.... again,, not his job!

went specifically for 2 reasons, Jaytech in the guv & Aleksandra in the acid lounge. Jaytech is simply amazing. he is an all around talented guy, from production to djing, a real class act. ventured into the acid lounge and caught the tail end of Yohans set, i was pretty impressed with the last few toons. then the lovely Aleksandra came on and tore that room up. i liked how the acid lounge was busy all night. i also like the new theme in there. very nice. i hung out in there for most of her set then went back into the mainroom, holy fromage. i racked my brain thinking, who the @#$% goes out, pays $$$ to be smothered by dirty gross elderly asians listening to cheeeeeese trance? i ran out of there and went into the gallery. some chick with bling headphones going nuts. im all for female djs for the simple fact that, well its a female. she looked good up there but her music library was really bad. bleepy minimal that lacked groove. suddenly she began to appear less attractive. it made me think of alicia hush and her collection...eww! i guess if i had to choose between trance or minimal id have to go with trance

anyway, left gallery cuz the music was equally as sour as the stench that was floating in the air. i bolted thru chinatown into the acid lounge and heard some dude play some sick prog. not sure if it was Aleksandras brother or someone else. after that i left, ate gross street meat and went home.

Ok, Review Time !!!!!

So Above and Beyond + Jaytech @ the Guv was my round one for this weekend. It has already been said that the crowd was brutal. A certainly agree with that this was a much ruder crowd then normal, however the combination of Valentines Day and Above and Beyond had me expecting something along those lines.

So as we got in at around 11:30 pm (ish) I went into the acid lounge to catch the later part of Yohans set before Jaytech came on. The room was just beginning to fill up, a few TA’s in there taking pictures and enjoying the good tunes. I heard Jaytech was coming on so I ran out to the main room.

So this 1 hour was great got exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately he wasn’t on for longer… but we got some pretty fun tunes for that time, he seemed to be loving the crowd and enjoying himself.

Ok so Above and Beyond … well as many of you pointed out I am not very big into trance to put it nicely lol. So that being said I don’t have much to compare this too honestly… but all in all it was very touch and go IMO. I did not feel a great flow. However the crowd was more or less going crazy as it was rammed in there until they got off, and literally minutes after MO came on I saw people flood the door.

But in between Jaytech I popped in and out of the Gallery and the Acid Lounge…

The Gallery also had a very fun energy in it people just enjoying tunes but I had a hard time getting into and when I did it wouldn’t last for long.

The Acid Lounge was pretty full every time I went in I’m not sure if it was people trying to escape the crammed main room or just there for the tunes and Sibling Rivalry was going off. I loved the techy beats and thank you for saving me time and time again .

There were some great conversations, some new friends, and some great old ones …

All in all fun night, nothing to unexpected.

Thank You All
