The big problem of kazaa (besides sucking big time) is that it's the next RIAA target, so it wont last long (it is already applying for chapter 11 i think)...

one thing I had never understood with napster was that all copyrighted material was blocked, did that mean they had done the same thing as ag ? Block artists unless they consented ?

The whole block system AG had could have saved them, think about it, it's really Mainstream artists that didn't want their stuff downloaded ( to some extent ) and the block system was a system which prevented the downloading of songs blocked for copyright issues.... and no FUCKING RIIA MAKES THEM BLOCK EVERYTHING UNLESS ARTISTS CONSENT!
