so what i'm trying to say is, psychological addiction may exist, but is a fucking joke compared to physical addiction.

anything can be addictive.

Although I agree with Omega, I must be honest.. I didn't have the spine to change my view about my 'addiction' to weed on my own.. I needed a jumpstart.

Addictive nonetheless. Congrats on being able to stop so easily. It wasn't so easy for me. I had to change my thinking. It was a mentality I had to break out of, rather than simply stop smoking. So in essence, you are correct. It is very much psychologically addictive. A very powerful drug in that respect.

I had to almost drop dead after a speed-binge before I was so fucked up that I couldn't smoke (for a while), even though I wanted to. People tend to change due to necessity, rather than their own free will. In my experience, a lot of people need to have something really dramatic happen to them in order for them to change their perspective about weed, self-suggestion without 'having' to quit can be a motherfucker, so props for breaking out because you want to, not have to.

The way canna is glorified in popular culture, and the fact that it's so easy to access, makes it a lot harder to quit than many others.

edit: But physical addiction shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as psychological, it's not like you'd get reeaally sick and unable to function properly because you stop smoking weed. You (probably) only loose a couple of nights sleep. But weed too has it's issues when it comes to depression and all kinds of shit like that.

1. I quit school the past semester to do what I'm currently doing. I wanted to be an astronaut or
2. Work at Nissan research & development labs. Make the first Nissan to go into space. Go into Nissan public relations and cause controversy by calling hybrids and electric vehicles "******mobiles."
3. Without school these are not possible. So now I just want to buy a space shuttle.

Ok, I'm almost done with highschool. This upcoming year is my senior year. I still have not decided on what I want to pursue after I finish school. I was thinking something along the lines of sound engineer, or some kind of manager since I like dealing with money. Still have no idea though, my brother is good with computers and said that he was conned into thinking about things too early and now he has a job he doesn't like and is paying off a lot of debt from student loans and living on his own. But....I'm almost done with highschool, I think I SHOULD be worrying about what I'm going to do next. I have to start thinking seriously about this. So, the purpose of this thread is that I need ideas. So I'm going to ask you two questions, feel free to elaborate.

What do you currently do?

What would you like to do/are currently pursuing?

I'm currently a lawl student attending the Georgetown University Clown College.

I would like to be a regional warlord.

Here's a few practical suggestions:
*Don't amass much student debt without knowing that the degree you are getting is exactly what you need for the career you know that you want to pursue.
*If you decide on a career path that includes graduate or professional school, go to that cheap-ass local school that will give you a scholarship to boot. No one cares where you got anything but your terminal degree.
*If you're going to move out on your own, make sure you have a good reason (e.g., something more substantial than vague notions of independence or a vain desire to project a facade of maturity).

man, 5,000 dollars a year in Canada really takes the student fees burden out of the equation. US FTL.

I took a year and a half off after completing my freshman year to flip invisible real estate when the market was still manic in Dubai, backpacked and travelled various countries, and recently repatriated myself Iraqi Kurdistan where I became quite immersed in activism against the hereditary defacto tribal rulers, which landed me in hot water at times. I contemplated never returning back to school, and considered joining the Canadian army full time , with hopes of eventually going into private security in the north of Iraq later on. But instead I opted to head back to school since I was missing a more "regular" lifestyle, and besides, if I still want to go a military route, a uni degree will only help. I'm 20, so its not to late to resume as a second year(its never too late), and although I am not sure If ill end up in grad school, teaching, military, NGO work, finance, etc., the completion of the program I've started seems like the most sensible choice right now.

started my B.Eng right out of HS, after second year i switched to part time studies as the school work was getting in the way of my partying and drug use. still managed to graduate with distinction and an impressive resume of substance abuse. after graduation i had a job within a week and been working ever since. i quit doing hard drugs cold turkey when i graduated, still smoke the odd J or mash some mushrooms on the weekends but other than that i reverted to my first love for weekend relief..... booze.

Just goes to show you if you put your mind to it, you can have a great time, party your ass off while at the same time have a rewarding career, make a pissload of money and be a contributive memebr of society (unlike some useless parasitic bastards here.... well one in particular anyways)

COR version, follow something your good at and you will do alright.
