Who gives a fuck, to be honest? Unless you broadcast your illegal behaviour on a social networking site, what does it matter that a computer in Washington has your details on file? And if you do broadcast your illegal activities, you've no right to complain if they kick your door down.
Well I think the issue at hand is a matter of principal and precedent..
Obviously at the moment you're not broadcasting anything illegal and so you're OK with it, but what happens when what becomes illegal changes to be against what you believe is right? What if it were illegal to voice opposition to the dominant political party, for instance?

That's a different issue to surveillence and spying. Surveillence and spying on its own is irrelevant. It's changes to the law that are important.
If the government did bring in such an obviously oppressive law, do you think it's the fact they're spying on you that would be most concerning? Or the fact they managed to pass such a law in the first place? Would you be saying "Well, I can't voice opposition to the dominant party in public anymore, but that's cool because I've still got the privacy of Facebook"? No, of course not.

It isn't even just that, though. Extended surveillance ability lends itself to all sorts of more "ordinary" abuse as well:
