Yeah I am definitely not dismissing the whole genre, I have tons of tech-house tracks. I love some of them too... I am just referring to the boring type with no melody that I was talking about in the OP

- I think the biggest problem is not that this type of music exists, its more that a lot of DJs play nothing but this style of tech-house for an entire set. I would love to hear this style of tech house thrown in here and there throughout a set, but an entire set of this stuff is just monotonous and boring.

One thing is for sure though: although the sound is stale right now, there are still a few DJs out there who can lay down a ridiculous "tech house" set that will leave your world spinning. It's all relative. Coming from a place like Windsor which has pretty much NO variety in terms of electronic music, sure Toronto seems like it has lots of variety. Fact is, on a worldwide scale, Toronto is pretty bad in terms of variety of electronic music in the clubs.
