so... gryphon isnt doing online ticket sales for this event. only insomniac is. but even if they go back and fix their prices, they would still have to honor the people that bought them at $15. thats their mistake, not the buyers. i understand your point of getting hard tickets and avoiding this possible mess, but if i were to go, id just get there early and make sure i got in. from the way your making it sound, you're gonna have to get there early anyway so why not just buy the cheaper tickets? itd probably be a good idea to pick them up asap as well in case insomniac does fix the price pretty soon. to my knowledge the wanttickets lists at the door dont list what price you bought the tickets at, only customer name (maybe email) and quantity of tickets purchased. hell, ive used a wanttickets glitche before and gotten tickets REALLY cheap and never had an issue at the door. the only way i can see this falling through is if you buy tickets online and then they discontinue the online sales and then no wanttickets person is at the door. but in that case wanttickets will issue a refund.
the real problem right now isnt even the price. its that shitty little thing that says "18+". that you guys are obviously in charge of and i believe you when you say its going to be 21+. but you're going to have some pissed off people if they think its 18+ and they show up and are denied entry.
so in short, if it were me, id buy tickets online. im just curious to know what the vip is all about. do you happen to have any contact info for insomnia events? theres nothing listed on wanttickets.
and thanks again for the response. i really do like that someone from gryphon is posting here because we get to find out wtf is actually happening unlike with so many other promoters/clubs/events. so props for that.  |

Here was the deal in short:I guess IE does other events in the South Florida area, not sure on that they needed a venue and luckily we had an open date and thought this would be a great booking for the club so we jumped on the opportunity. The only reason they are selling the tickets is because they paid for the booking and are making their money back off the door. I'm sure they will honor the original price, but I'm not exactly sure. That is something they will have to figure out on their end. I actually don't have any info for them and neither does their new wanttickets page, I have never dealt with this group before. They do 18+ parties all over so I guess they just figured it would work the same way but anyone who knows the Hard Rock knows you NEED to be 21+
The new price on wanttickets is $25 plus the taxes and service charges so it will be just under $30. So technically you get them from me and your saving money, time and energy to wait in will call. Either way its up to the guest. I always like to have hard tickets on hand just in case or you get there later and the wanttickets people are gone.
Marco V. is our booking so there won't be any issues. We run a tight ship over here and sucks when things don't happen correctly because it looks bad on us, but what can you do the problem was fixed very quickly and we moved on.
Our VIP is a seperate room behind the floating Grass Wall. That is what the VIP tickets allow access too. By my guess all the tables will be sold out and being back in VIP won't be much of a bonus since you can only see parts of the mainroom and djs. Once again its all up to the guests preference.
Thanks! I hate being stuck in the dark about things, it's happened to me before and it sucks when shit doesn't work out. I'll keep everyone updated on new bookings when I get wind of them but we really do have some great bookings lined up for the rest of the year and their gonna keep coming!!
