I had a great time.. I have seen Tiesto in amny different settings..little clubds like Roxy NYC..way back when... Tiesto at Central Park, WMC, Ultra's ... but this concert setting was awesome. Couldnt really dance though ..and there were moments that I wanted to just get rid of the chairs. But it was def a change to be able to sit and relax, no one sweating on me.. no puching or shoving. His music was great,..I mean I miss tiesto circa 99-2004 but this is whsts left and I am happy he played a lot of classics...and despite what he has said he def Stayed TRANCE at this event..and lots of ELECTRO.

A million thanks to Pat for the youtube uploads. Can anyone help me make a tracklist? I couldn't recognize almost anything that wasn't kaleidoscope or old tiesto (which, mind you, most of it was )

Definitely a good night, venue had some problems, warm up DJs were shit IMO, tiesto was certainly not his best, but the atmosphere was great even in the seats

alright so heres the review...

knew the show was going to be fucking slammed so we got there early. plan was to get there at 7:30 with the doors opening at 8. got there at like 7:35 and the line in front of the door was INSANE!! quickly got to the front of the line though and straight in. there was a special table for inthebooth ticket holders and very quickly got our hard tickets and a wristband for the floor. we didnt have to wait in line in the bottom of the arena for a wristband, instead we were set right from the beginning. i guess tiesto does take care of his inthebooth members atleast somewhat.

anyway, i think the first opener was jimmy joslin and he wasnt great but was atleast better than last year. the second opener was dj gina turner who was beyond horrible. she was trying to scratch and it just didnt work. she was playing the most horibble slow shit. she even played a hiphop song. horrible doesnt begin to describe it. worst hour and a half of shit ive ever heard. my question really becomes who did she bang in order to get that opening spot? also wtf happened to adrian lux? thats who we were promised and no word that there was a change.

the place by this point was really getting full. the floor had been to capacity for some time already and they were making announcements that the fire marshall was not allowing anyone else on unless you already had a wristband. a lot of people where pissed by this because they paid the same amount of money on their ticket as the people on the floor but werent allowed down there. it was stated previous to the show that only 1500 people were going to be allowed but i think the notice was too short for most people to get the message. either you got there early and got a wristband, or you had bought your tickets through inthebooth and got a wristband, or you had vip which also gave you access. but most people just bought regular ticketmaster lower bowl tickets and simply didnt know. if tiesto comes back next year, i think that they're going to have to sell floor tickets separately or else its simply not going to work.

so yea, the place was packed. barely an empty seat and even the upper bowl (which was closed last year) had people. outside there were signs that said "no glowsticks or lasers" but plenty of people still brought them in.

the crowd was mostly youngins and i looked around quite a bit and was just laughing at what people were wearing. these kids realize halloween was a few weeks ago right? despite how stupid some of these kids are, for the most part they are actually quite nice. and if they accidentally step on you or bump you, they will actually apologize which is something you dont get in miami clubs.

so onto the show, 11:04pm the lights dim down and everyone goes nuts. the tiesto chant is going strong and we hear kaleidoscope as the first track. WEAK!!!!!!!!!! thats the same intro as last year and not even the intro hes been using lately! lately its been sander van doorn - intro (xx booty mix) which is so much better! dunno why he switched it up but everyone went nuts regardless. the entire first 15 minutes of the set the ENTIRE crowd was up in the air. the ENTIRE building was shaking from everyone jumping up and down. i havent seen a scene like that since watching the 1999 woodstock performance of korn. yes, it was THAT nuts.

the first hour of tiestos set he was ripping it so hard. he was mixing really quick and not playing any tracks for more than a minutes or two. tracks 6 through 10 i think were only a minute or two a piece. lethal industry --> knas --> work hard, play hard --> hello --> religious was just insane. tiesto really came on hard with a bang. i think he played around 17-18 tracks in that first hour alone. personally i liked that part of the show the best. the 2nd hour he slowed it down a bit and the third hour he played his classics as well as some softer stuff like sweet disposition (THANK YOU! heard this at priviledge last year and it was so nice to hear it again) as well as forever young (barf). really surprised he didnt play tweak your nipple or dada life - unleash the fucking dada. both tracks woulda gone off so good. really wished he would of played the original of love comes again and not the crappy bart version. but oh well. cant get everything. killer ending track though which was marcel woods - bpm. that drop destroyed everyone.

yes, tiesto played a lot of electro house inspired by his shm best friends, and some of it i really could do without like knas and shm - one, but listen, let me tell you something. tiesto made that shit work. the electro was scattered throughout the entire set but oh my god some of it was so damn hard i couldnt believe it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRiQveKJ4rQ yes do yourself a favor and listen to this one. tell me that shit isnt badass?! but anyway, yea tiesto played so much harder than last year. honestly i liked last years stuff better because there was too much electro house in this set for me but the energy was so much higher than last year. plus the vibe was just insane. everyone was so into it, which im sorry you really cant get at any fucking club down here in miami anymore. maybe the old pvd space sets, or the old tiesto space sets. those legendary nights are the only ones that can compare to the vibe of this show. and yes im only talking about the vibe. i fully understand musically this concert was not up there. but i knew that going in. but the production, the lights, the sound (which was thumping way more than last year), some of the music, and especially the vibe is what makes this kinda show so much fun.

one MAJOR problem i had with the show was that during a couple songs (specially escape me) the video was out of sync with the audio. im sorry but that production is exactly what i am paying for. and for it to be out of sync is beyond horrible. that is tiestos shit. that is the shit you cant get at any other show and then its not done right? big fuck up there. happened during another track too but i cant remember which one right now.

another huge crazy thing that happened which is horrible is something i found out through this youtube comment:
quote:
This was the funiest moment of the night, I was close to the stage so I saw it pretty clearly, if you notice around :35 seconds in, this crazy kid climbs upstage, then starts fucking around the DJ tables while Tiesto moves away, then shortly after security tries to take him out towards right side of the stage, then around 1:00 in, you will see him get free and then dive into the crowd.

video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhiXPzEwy7g
what an absolute idiot.

alright i think that does it for my review. i had a spectacular time and really hope this show comes back again. actually seeing how full this shit got i really wonder how long its going to be before tiesto can take over the american airlines arena or the bank atlantic center.

some pretty amazing pictures to come. i brought my gfs canon rebel with this time and wow that shit got some amazing shots. im a bit upset because as i was taking the pics i thought they were looking horrible so i stopped. but as soon as i pulled them up on my computer, WOW! so crystal clear. also some regular pics from the point n shoot.

wow. that was a long fuckin review. well, hope i covered it well for you guys.

You did, nice review & vids also. Looks like a fun show that blew away the crap he dropped @ Liv. Mr. T can still bring a good show even if his style & track selection are not what they used to be ...
