Check out the track times on Derrick May's Innovator.

Its good to have a few long tracks on an album, but why does the whole thing have to be drawn out?

Most of the drawn out tracks you guys talk about are just endless loops - there's not much composition going on.

This is the CD that I was imagining when I made my initial statement regarding track times. If you compare today's dj to the dj from 20 years ago, there's a big difference in terms of A.D.D. like mixing styles of old vs. the long subtle mixer today

I think both styles have merit and personally would welcome a trend where the dj's hustle a bit more in the booth instead of letting the genre and the tracks drone on and on for hours

Anyways, while I can see where folks like woscar are coming from saying this particular brand of Berghain/Ostgut techno can be very cold (in terms of the sound aesthetic), I actually think theres a lot of warmth in this album compared to, say, Marcel Dettmann's recent album (which was a big disappointment for me). Really loving the samples and I have a feeling that when I pick this album up, it might even grow to be better than "Shedding The Past".
