I don't give a fuck! More power to him! More power to him! The very idea that motivation should always be intrinsic and that there should never be any talk about money is the VERY fucking propaganda put out by people looking to manipulate and confuse others! I don't drink the purple juice! I don't believe the wolfcry! I don't believe the condemnation put forward by the Steve Dahls of this world! I don't believe in disco sucks! The fact is Paul Oakenfold was able to use his business sense (something you lack) and build this scene and and offer people a viable alternative to what the american music industry was promoting here. And for that he has my respect for life!

Who are these new djs making hits and making money in this environment? Who? Tell me some new names out there doing it and getting ahead in this environment using the internet as their sole promo and getting lucrative gigs who weren't popular to begin with? I'll start with deadmau5 and his million dollar 360 deal... Not sure if we can attribute his success to his grassroots internet promotion efforts but hey he is out there! Anybody else guys??? Because all I am hearing is the opposite... All I am hearing is labels calling it quits, clubs getting shut down and people from the industry now having a job that doesn't have anything to do with dance music! Let me remind you by the way...

We see 'normal' people from the street in a TV competition and instantly want to see them turned into pop stars. The same applies in our specialist dance music World, people are making tracks to become instantly famous so they can tour the World as a DJ. The music cluttered in download shops is testament to this. It's impossible for a band on an independent label to make it into the top 40 charts these days. That chart is run by the handful of major labels and the infrastructure they control. The same can be .... said about the handful of labels that dominate dance music scene. .... It's easy to say that digital downloading killed our specialist records shops. But we lost a lot more than that. We lost our local communities, our outlet of information about up and coming artists, bands or DJ's. Importantly we lost those passionate kids that worked in those stores. Instead we get force fed information from corporate companies telling us what we should be listening too and the inflated electronic hype that comes with it. .... .. .. Let's hope the same technology that took away our specialist communities can help us survive. It's never been about competing with the corporate companies, it's about having a support network. .... That's the difference with passionate music lovers, they are always there to help, and it’s never about being competitive. The trophy holders can keep their awards. To us this means nothing. I want that family community back with likewise people to share my passion with. .... |

Armin is on satellite radio you moron!  24 hour sundays on satellite Radio! You know... at the music channels on everybody's television... you know... just a few channels up from the Howard-Fucking-Stern show! Sure beats forum spamming doesn't it? Now how do you even put him in the same box as your average dance producer/label owner/dj and say there is the internet and you can spam it and see... see... tons of record sales! Bullshit! You lie and lie over and over!
