3-4 exercises per muscle group. Ill do compound and isolation movements and mix it up between free weights and machines.

Example: Shoulders

Lateral raise - 3 sets, 12 reps
Seated dumbbell press - 4 sets, 10 reps
Smith machine shoulder press - 3 sets, 12 reps

Sometimes ill do drop sets (do 5 reps lower the weight, do another 5 reps, lower the weight, repeat till ive done a total of 15 reps) and super sets (dumbbell press immediately following lateral raises) to change things up and shock the muscle.

Man, P90X2 is tough. I'm definitely feeling it after day 4. That foam roller works out some crazy knots in my muscles, though. Chris, did you ever get one of those?

I must say, the one good thing about having lost muscle mass is that my arms aren't so beefy anymore. When I start working out again I'm going to leave my arms and shoulders alone.

These finally came in the mail today.

Now I can run outside on the snow/ice instead of having to be a hamster on a treadmill

Good form

It's pretty rare to see somebody do proper squats like that.
